AristaVista is a US company based in Houston Texas but the business actually originates from Utah, the US centre for numerous diet pill supplements and worryingly numerous scams. AristaVista was founded by Brandon Langer, and the company seems fairly new on the supplements marketplace.
AristaVista Max Unwind is a supplement that is marketed as a sleep and relaxation aid, and it may work because many of the ingredients will have sleep inducing and relaxation effects. However we have concerns about safety because it contains tryptophan, a once banned ingredient which is known for side effects. The fact that ingredient quantities are not disclosed is of further concern. AristaVista advertises all over social media, popping up on Facebook and Instagram so is becoming a well known name although many people are irritated by this marketing practice.
Potential side effects may include; vomiting, diarrhoea, gastric problems such as abdominal pains and gas, dizziness, headaches, weakness in muscles, blurred vision, sexual problems, foetal abnormalities, vivid dreams, drowsiness, groggy feeling in morning, lowered blood pressure and body temperature, and worsening of depression.
Hops are known to affect the body’s oestrogen levels, so you should probably avoid if you have or have had a hormonally sensitive medical condition such as breast cancer.
AristaVista Max Unwind is not very expensive. It is only available direct from the AristaVista website where it costs $29.95 for a month’s supply (40 capsules or 20 servings).
Shipping is free Worldwide on orders over $20.
We are a bit disappointed with Max Unwind. At first glance it seemed that this supplement could be effective but the addition of tryptophan, known for side effects, is our major concern. Although Max Unwind may actually help you to sleep, dream, and relax, this could undo any positive benefits this supplement may cause. After all it is not going to help if you take a supplement to help you sleep, and then are kept awake all night feeling sick or similar.
We would have preferred to have seen more accurate ingredients information too, especially in light of our concerns about tryptophan, and the lack of a Terms and Conditions page is also suspicious. Does this supplement really come with a guarantee as implied or is it just a standard returns policy? Without T&Cs we cannot check out this most basic of information.
In our opinion this sleep inducing supplement may work as described, but in light of the potential risks to health we would not recommend AristaVista Max Unwind to our readers.

Max Unwind is a supplement that comes with the claims it will help you refresh your energy levels, by helping you relax and sleep. In fact it is advertised as “Sleep Better” so essentially this is what it is supposed to help you do.
Max Unwind contains a blend of natural ingredients. The principle is a branded marine supplement called Aquamin, described by the makers as “A unique marine multi- mineral complex, providing bio-active calcium, magnesium and 72 other trace minerals.”
Aquamin is not available to buy as a supplement in its own right. Instead it is used in other supplements as here and throughout the food industry in health products.
Max Unwind also contains a proprietary blend of ingredients including hops extract – well known for causing a sleepy effect, and amino acid L Theanine – which is present in green tea.
The supplement also contains Alpha GPC which may help increase brain chemicals, and so improve mental performance. The final components are an amino acid called tryptophan, which helps increase serotonin levels, and melatonin. This last one is important because melatonin is the hormone in the body that regulates sleep patterns. Melatonin can be made synthetically as here and is often taken to counter the effects of jet lag.
Overall, the ingredients profile of AristaVista Max Unwind looks reasonable, although we do have some concerns about safety. Check out our ingredients tab to find out more.
If you have trouble sleeping but don’t want a powerful knock out pill or to go down the road of powerful prescription meds, it may help you relax and gain some inner calm. However there are things that you can try without the use of supplements which may also help promote sleep.
Mindfulness and meditation can help mind and body relax, physical activity throughout the day, including sex can help you sleep. Avoiding caffeine before bedtime and turning off devices and social media in the bedroom can also help you sleep, and the old fashioned remedy of just going to bed early sometimes will be effective for some people.
AristaVista is a Texas based company, although it appears to have originated in Utah, the centre of the US supplements industry. As well as Max Unwind, the company sells Max Unleash, a nootropic energy supplement with the description “Get More Done”, and unusually a book called Limitless Biohacking that claims to help you find the perfect nootropic information to improve your mental capacity and success.
You can find AristaVista on social media. We have seen the brand advertised on some non related sites via Instagram, and they also advertise on Facebook too. We found AristaVista being advertised on Instagram via a non related site about cats, a fact that irritated many of the site’s fans and followers.
The basic message of Max Unwind is that it will help you “Sleep Better” and give you “Mind Power Revitalised”
The advertising explains,
“Designed to maximize your brain, AristaVista products contain science-backed ingredients proven to support mental power, health & recovery. Ready to get the most out of your sleep? Take Max Unwind in the evening to relax, recover, and experience the best sleep of your life.”
There are six key features that this supplement will improve. These are;
Although the advertising mentions that the ingredients are “science backed”, there are no real explanations about this point or how this ingredients blend will work in the way as described. That said, Max Unwind is made in the USA in accordance with GMP (good manufacturing practice) does not contain GMO and is dairy and gluten free.
It might work, but it is important to remember that this is not a prescription sleeping pill so it is not going to have a “knock out” effect. Melatonin can help people with disturbed sleep cycles and according to research, 1 to 6mg of melatonin taken before bedtime can have the desired effect. We don’t know how much melatonin is contained in this supplement, but if it conforms to these figures you may find that this ingredient alone may be enough to be effective.
L Theanine, an amino acid present in green tea which seems to help the brain’s alpha waves – the state that sees the brain in relaxed yet active mode. This may cause enhanced dreaming and of course increasing dream state may lead to lovely, bad, or vivid dreams which can disrupt you the following day as you relive the horror going into your office naked or similar weird experiences!
Otherwise the ingredients may help brain health in general. Aquamin is an award winning health supplement, that provides numerous vitamins and minerals and Alpha GPC may help support brain health.
This formula is not proven and has never been scientifically tested, but it may do something!
However if you are simply looking for a good night’s sleep, you may find a milky drink, and switching off the TV and social media in the bedroom will be enough to stop your mind racing.
Serving size is equal to two capsules and this supplement is suitable for vegetarians.
Max Unwind Proprietary Blend (553mg):
Most of the ingredients in the formula are safe. However the unknown quantity of tryptophan is a major concern because there are real health risks associated with this one ingredient. It was banned from the market in the 90s because it was linked to causing EMS (eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome) a dangerous neurological condition that causes liver damage, fatigue, baldness, joint swelling, and more.
Research suggests that this could have originated from contaminated products, although nobody knows for sure but whatever the case, tryptophan is now again present in some supplements. Side effects may include;
Other side effects may include;
Caution:
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant, breast feeding, or trying to conceive. Speak to your physician first if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking prescription medication. Some of the ingredients in Max Unwind will cause drug interactions or make medical conditions worse.
The only reviews we could find were located on the official product page, and unsurprisingly these are all extremely positive. Does this mean that the supplement is good? Or could it be that AristaVista simple filters out any negative remarks? Are the customer comments even genuine? We have no way of knowing the answers to these questions.
Here are a couple of examples;
I can’t say enough good things about this product. Took 2 hours before going to bed and had the sleep recovery of a lifetime.
I feel the difference in my mood and quality of sleep, it’s much better after even one night! I wake up feeling like I got a good nights rest which is refreshing, I’d recommend giving it a try, I like to take it closer to bed time, hours after dinner, seems to work best on close to an empty stomach.
There is a guarantee advertised, but whether or not the company will refund open or part used packages is not disclosed. Our guess is no but without a page of terms and conditions, it is impossible to know the full extent of this guarantee.
The information states,
Not 100% satisfied with your purchase? We’ll refund you 100% within 30 days of delivery.
This sounds good but is likely to be a basic returns policy rather than a money back guarantee.
At the time of writing, AristaVista Max Unwind is only available to buy from the official AristaVista website.
