If you are looking for a nootropic it might be worth a try and if you don’t like it, you can always claim your money back.

Our Verdict On BioTrust BrainBright

We quite like Biotrust Brainbright. It comes with a full ingredients list and most components are in strong enough quantities to actually do something. If even some of the clinical evidence is to be believed, we can see that this supplement may perk up your mental energy levels as described.

That said, the customer feedback is not overwhelming and as ever we are left profoundly confused and irritated by the Biotrust hyperactive advertising style. We are never sure what Biotrust supplements are really supposed to do, and this one is no exception. The best thing we can say about this point is at least we did not have to endure one of their long and boring animations which are a feature of most Biotrust products.

We have certainly seen a lot worse nootropic supplements on the market. It might be worth a try and if you do buy from the official Biotrust website and it does not work, you have a whole year to claim a refund.

BioTrust BrainBright Review

Biotrust Brainbright is a nootropic supplement that claims to improve flagging brain power and liven up your mental performance. It looks pretty good at first glance. The supplement contains a range of vitamins and minerals including B12 and folic acid plus two proprietary plant extract blends. However the principal ingredients are amino acid L-tyrosine and L-carnitine with added L-theanine.

BioTrust BrainBright Facts

  • Each bottle contains 60 capsules or 30 servings.
  • Comes from Biotrust, better known for their range of weight loss supplements.
  • Contains vitamins, amino acids and herbal ingredients.

Amino acids are often explained as being the building blocks of protein and it is a good description. Over 20% of the body is composed of amino acids – many of which are made by the body and they play a key role in the formation and function of our cells, muscle and tissue. Amino acids are also important for brain health.

How to Take BioTrust BrainBright

Simply take one (1) tablet, two (2) times daily, preferably without food. For enhanced focus and concentration, take two (2) tablets as needed. Do not exceed six (6) tablets per day.

As well as the vitamin and amino acids, Biotrust Brainbright contains two proprietary blends based on plant extracts. These are Gingko Clean which contains extracts from the Gingko Biloba plant and Rhodiola Max based on the root of a plant called Rhodiola Rosea. Both these natural ingredients may have effects on mood and mental performance. We will look further into the ingredients later in the review.

BioTrust BrainBright Concerns:

  • Although this supplement seems safe is it suitable for long-term use?
  • Could be a waste of money.
  • Hard to understand what this supplement is supposed to do.

Biotrust is a well-known nutritional supplements company. Based in Austin, Texas, it manufactures and markets supplements that are mainly to do with weight loss and muscle building. We have covered numerous weight loss supplements including Leptiburn and IC5. We also covered BioTrust in an investigation:

Although Biotrust has an extensive product range, Biotrust Brainbright is the company’s only nootropic supplement.

What Does BioTrust BrainBright Claim To Do?

Biotrust is well known for providing lengthy and largely incomprehensible explanations about their products and the advertising for Brainbright is no exception.

First up, Joel, the co-founder of the company explains why you may need a nootropic supplement.

… Because of today’s fast paced and crazy, busy world, along with your natural ageing process, it’s very likely that your BRAIN is running a lot like an old, run-down computer from the 1980s.

… Your mental speed may be slow, your memory may be difficult to access, and chances are, your brain batteries are so drained and “corroded” that you constantly feel tired and mentally sluggish – like an old computer or cell phone that can’t keep a charge.

This all sounds awful but there is no evidence anywhere that says that it is likely that your brain is running like an old 1980s computer or functioning like an old cell phone. Without any real explanation or facts to explain what is really happening with your brain, Joel rushes on headlong to his next point,

You may be experiencing something we call ‘Brain Drain,’ caused by lack of sleep, too much stress and a deficiency of key neuro-nutrients in the food you eat. But fortunately, there are several simple strategies that you can easily put in place to light up your drained brain, and that’s why I’m here today: to give you total peace of mind and to ease the worry and frustrations you have surrounding the health and performance of your brain by sharing with you those simple yet extremely effective and powerful tips…

We will cut to the chase here: the so-called “effective and powerful tips” are simply to buy this supplement.

Does BioTrust BrainBright Work?

Biotrust Brainbright might help you feel more alert and improve your mental performance. Many of the ingredients come with strong evidence that they can improve mental functioning and brain health.

For example, L-Carnitine is proven to help keep you awake after a sleepless night if you only take 150 mg and with the Carnitine content here at 500 mg we can see that this ingredient alone is effective.

In addition the other ingredients look very promising. Gingko Biloba is known to increase blood flow into the brain which may increase cognitive speed. Rhodiola Rosea may be of general mental and physical benefit because it is well known as an adaptogen – a substance that generally boosts your health and well-being. Theanine is proven to cause you to relax yet stay mentally alert.

Nootropic supplements are in the early stages of testing but we can see Biotrust Brainbright helping your mental performance.

However it may be hard to evaluate the real effects. This exact formula has never been tested and as with the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz, belief is important. If you take a pill to make you smarter, you will probably feel smarter just because you believe in it.

What Are The Ingredients of BioTrust BrainBright?

Serving size is equal to 2 capsules. Quantities here refer to serving size and are not per capsule.

  • Riboflavin (8 mg): Also known as Vitamin B2 and present in a varied healthy diet – such as green veg, milk, meat and eggs. Riboflavin plays many roles in the body and is important for general health.
  • Vitamin B6 (20 mg): Most people receive sufficient B6 in their daily diet as it is present in many foods including poultry, potatoes and fruit. It is very important for healthy brain development so is often taken throughout pregnancy. It is also important for infant brain development so just one reason why a healthy diet is crucial for small children.
  • Folate (800 mcg): Folic acid is a type of B vitamin and it may help treat age-related memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. However it requires more clinical testing.
  • Vitamin B12 (500 mcg): Very important vitamin which is crucial for health including healthy brain function. Many people are deficient in B12 and it can lead to a range of symptoms including fatigue. You can visit your doctor for a simple blood test to check this out for you.
  • Gingko Clean (240 mg): This branded supplement is derived from a tree extract that has long been known as a Traditional Chinese Medicinal herb. It is used for numerous conditions and may help prevent cognitive decline because it increases the blood flow to the brain. The Gingko is the oldest living species of tree and is widely used as a treatment for dementia. It can cause side effects.
  • Rhodiola Max (200 mg): Branded supplement derived from a plant extract. It is similar to Ginseng because it is a natural Adaptogen which means that it causes general feelings of well-being and is often taken as a supplement in its own right. According to animal testing, it seems to reduce fatigue and feelings of stress but there is no real evidence beyond the anecdotal, that it helps improve cognitive functioning.
  • N-Acetyl-Tyrosine (500 mg): This amino acid improves alertness and is important in the production of the chemical messengers in the brain. Tyrosine is an amino acid made in body that helps the body convert fat into energy as well as being important for mental functioning. N Acetyl-L-tyrosine helps the body make tyrosine and in this form is especially beneficial for improving mental performance.
  • N-Acetyl-Carnitine (500 mg): Amino acid that can be effective for some medical conditions including depression and elderly memory loss.
  • L-Theanine (100 mg): Amino acid found only in the tea plant and the part that gives tea its unique, energising yet relaxing effects. When tested on healthy young volunteers it was found that 50 mg of L Theanine significantly increases activity in the alpha frequency band which indicates that it relaxes the mind without inducing drowsiness and enhances critical aspects of attention.
  • Bioperine (5 mg): Black pepper extract that may help increase the bioavailability of the other ingredients making them more effective at lower levels.

Nothing spectacular but may have helped.

I’m not sure if these tablets really worked but I took 2 tabs in the morning before my job interview and I did really well and I did not stammer.

I can’t tell if this helps. But this thing gives me a headache.

I bought this from the Biotrust website to send for my mother she has Alzheimer, result that after 3 days she started to have terrible hallucinations.
