Our Verdict On Brain Nerd Super Nootropic

We are not very impressed with Brain Nerd Super Nootropic. In our opinion this supplement is likely to be unpredictable, and side effects could be an issue for many customers. It would have been great to have seen some genuine customer reviews to find out more about these but as this supplement is only available via the official website, there is no platform for feedback. Could this be a reason why Brain Nerd does not risk selling on the open market where adverse feedback could be a problem?

We like that Brain Nerd Super Nootropic is made in the USA, and that Brain Nerd are not associated with any billing scams or similar. We like the free US shipping too and the fact that Brain Nerd is run by US military veterans, but in our opinion these good points are just not enough to make us recommend this supplement.

Finally we never like the inclusion of ingredients that show up on the WADA list, so therefore we do not recommend Brain Nerd Super Nootropic to our readers.

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic Review

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic is a supplement in capsule form that contains some popular nootropic ingredients. Or, as the advertising puts it, the company have compiled all the top nootropics in a ready-made stack so you don’t have to!

Ingredients include Noopept, a brand name for a synthetic nootropic molecule first developed in Russia. Noopept works in a similar way to Piracatam, although is much stronger and its best known benefit are that it enhances memory and learning. Nootropic fans often report improved mental clarity, focus, and better memory function.

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic Facts

  • Available in either 15 serving or 30 serving bottles
  • No money back guarantee
  • Only available via the official Brain Nerd website

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic also contains DMAE Dimethylaminoethanol, a choline compound often used in anti aging products. It seems to remove pigment that builds up in the brain as we age, and may be effective for age related memory loss.

Other ingredients include Ginseng, although the type is unspecified, Choline Bitartrate, an inexpensive form of choline that is supposed to increase acetyl choline levels in the brain. It contains coconut oil powder which is becoming increasingly popular for brain health and Aniracetam, one of the original nootropics first developed back in the 70s. The final component is Adrafinil, a synthetic compound that is a precursor of another synthetic drug called Modafinil, which is a stimulant used to treat narcolepsy.

Adrafinil is supposed to enhance memory, but as both Adrafinil and Modafinil are both banned by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) because of their stimulant effect, using Brain Nerd Super Nootropic will get you banned for doping if you take part in sport. There are some serious health concerns about Adrafinil too because it is known for causing side effects.

How to Take Brain Nerd Super Nootropic

  • Take 1 capsule to assess tolerance
  • Take 2 capsules daily
  • Do not exceed 4 capsules a day

Overall this supplement looks powerful. Although this might sound appealing, this supplement may cause side effects and may get you banned from sport if you use it without realising.

As you can tell by the name, Brain Nerd specialise in nootropic supplements. The company are transparent about contact details and address, and we like that the supplements are made in the USA and conform to GMP (good manufacturing practice). You can contact the company via the live chat function on the official website, by phone, email or even mail.

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic Concerns:

  • The side effects could be an issue for many users
  • You are not warned in the product information about the Adrifinil content, despite the fact it is on the WADA list
  • No customer feedback. No money back guarantee. Brain Nerd does not seem to fully interact with customers.

We covered Brain Nerd Focal Point in a previous review, and found that as a basic Aniracetam supplement it looked pretty good. Can we really say the same about this one, given that the formula could lead to side effects?

As far as we can see Brain Nerd look safe to buy from, and we have not uncovered any obvious payment scams or customer complaints. The fact that the company is owned and run by ex servicemen gives the customer the confidence that this is a reputable company.

What Does Brain Nerd Super Nootropic Claim To Do?

According to the advertising, Brain Nerd Super Nootropic will cause the following nootropic effects;

PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS

  • Sensory Acuity
  • Reaction Speed
  • Spatial Awareness
  • Physical Energy
  • Homeostasis: Health, Immune, Longevity

COGNITIVE BENEFITS:

  • Improved memory (short and long term)
  • Focus/ Attention/ Concentration
  • Computation/ Processing Speed
  • Analysis/ categorical and critical thinking ability
  • Synthesis/ Pattern Recognition
  • Decreased Brain Fog

The product information explains how the supplement works but there is no real evidence that says it will work in this way as described.

“Brain Nerds *Super Nootropic Supplement* can increase cerebral blood flow, thus causing an increase in the amount of oxygen and ATP available to neurons. Brain Nerd Super Nootropic replenishes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine that is used in the pre-frontal cortex of the brain to generate higher thought and mind-muscle connection.

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic improves the connections between the different parts of the brain (speech, memory, motor control, sensory, etc.) and also within the different hemispheres of the brain.”

Does Brain Nerd Super Nootropic Work?

Brain Nerd Super Nootropic is not really going to work exactly in the way as described, although it may do something. Results may be unpredictable, and will largely depend upon your own physical make up and tolerances.

The supplement does contain ingredients with a stimulant effect. Adrafinil may keep you awake and aniracetam is believed to increase cognitive ability. Ginseng – although we are not told which type, is considered an Adaptogen which means it helps increase feelings of wellbeing. Many people take Noopept to improve mental clarity, although according to some users it can cause side effects.

Overall we can imagine that Brain Nerd Super Nootropic may pep you up and improve your mood and mental sharpness temporarily, so you may find it is worth a try.

However we are not sure that using it will be as good for long term brain health as the advertising states. We can’t see how this supplement will “replenish the neurotransmitter acetyl choline” for example, because although it contains choline bitartrate which is supposed to help increase acetyl choline, there is no evidence that it will. According to experts choline bitartrate does have benefits for the body, but does not increase acetylcholine in the brain very reliably. The other claims are equally unproven.

What Are The Ingredients of Brain Nerd Super Nootropic?

Serving size is equal to 2 capsules. Quantities here relate to a 2 capsule serving.

  • DMAE (165mg): This naturally occurring compound in the brain can also be found in food such as anchovies or sardines. It plays an important role in brain functioning and cognitive acuity, and affects how good you feel to how much mental energy you have.
  • Choline Bitartrate (330mg): This is the cheapest form of choline and it contains half the form of choline by weight, so at most this serving will only provide 165mg of choline here. According to experts choline bitartrate does have benefits for the body, especially liver function, but it may not increase acetylcholine in the brain very reliably. Serving size here is inadequate. Many choline bitartrate supplements use around 2000mg per serving. Source
  • Aniracetam (550mg): One of the earliest nootropics developed in the 1970s and one of the racetam class of chemicals. According to research taking between 400mg and 1500mg a day will help improve mental performance. Testing has been mainly carried out on animals because human testing would require the use of living brain tissue but many people report improved mental performance. Source
  • Noopept (30mg): Noopept is a brand name for a synthetic nootropic molecule first developed in Russia that works in a similar way to Piracatam, only at a much lower dose. It is often used as a study aid and it has been tested as a treatment for cerebral trauma. It may help increase acetyl choline in the brain so strengthen neurotransmitters. It is fast working and seems to enhance memory and learning skills. Source
  • Coconut Oil Powder (165mg): Made up from MCT (medium triglycerides) fatty acids, coconut oil has many positive benefits to health. According to research it may help treat neurological disorders. Source
  • Ginseng (165mg): There are many different types of ginseng, and the exact variety here is not disclosed. In general ginseng is known as an Adaptogen meaning it improves feelings of wellbeing and energy. Ginseng is popular as a supplement but can cause side effects.
  • Adrafinil (300mg): Adrafinil is a synthetic nootropic that changes to Modafinil in the body once it is ingested. Both Adrafinil and Modafinil are stimulants but neither cause the jittery side effects associated by substances such as amphetamines. Adrafinil helps fight tiredness and it will keep you awake. In fact Modafinil is used as a treatment for narcolepsy. Beware! Adrafinil and Modafinil are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as a nonspecific stimulant compound, so using this supplement will get you banned from competitive sport. Modafinil is used by the Armed Forces as a stimulant. Source
