What You Need To Know About Extreme Clarity

Extreme Clarity is a nootropic supplement which is only on sale via Amazon. It contains some good nootropic ingredients but as most of these are in unknown amounts, it is hard to tell just how effective this supplement will be. There is some good feedback on Amazon, but some customers have complained that it does not work or has too much caffeine. Extreme Clarity is on sale from the eXtreme supplements company that actually sells a range of household equipment, so are not the nootropic experts they appear to be. Side effects may be an issue.

What Are The Side Effects Of Extreme Clarity?

Potential side effects may include facial flushing and redness, vivid dreams, depression, anxiety, increased sunlight to sensitivity, insomnia, stomach pains, restlessness, infertility, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, changes to blood pressure, increased saliva and urine, and headaches.

St John’s Wort is known for causing interactions with many prescription medications including the contraceptive pill, and heart and cancer medication.

How Much Does Extreme Clarity Cost?

Extreme Clarity is not expensive. It costs $21.99 for a bottle of 30 capsules (1 month’s supply).

Our Verdict On Extreme Clarity

We are not very impressed by Extreme Clarity. This looks to be a fairly lacklustre supplement that may cause side effects, and although in fairness, customers have not mentioned these, the fact that it contains St John’s Wort means that it is a risk to people on medication.

In our opinion, this product is not a very inspiring or effective supplement and we do not recommend Extreme Clarity to the Watchdog readers.

Extreme Clarity Review

Extreme Clarity is a nootropic supplement on sale only via Amazon. It contains a proprietary blend of ingredients including caffeine, GABA, L Theanine, and Alpha GPC, all natural chemicals and amino acids that are said to improve brain function, as well as enhance energy.

Extreme Clarity Facts

  • Each bottle contains 30 capsules
  • On sale from a general merchandise company rather than a nootropic specialist
  • Only on sale from Amazon USA

In addition, Extreme Clarity contains Vitamin 3 and Vitamin B5, plus St John’s Wort extract. This part of the supplement is not combined in the proprietary blend, so quantities are provided. At 120mg per serving, the St John’s Wort content is low but it is important to know that St John’s Wort can be dangerous for some people. It can help reduce depression and anxiety but side effects are common, and it causes numerous prescription drug interactions. So if you are on medication such as heart pills, anti-cancer drugs, or even the contraceptive pill, Extreme Clarity may not be suitable.

Check out the ingredients tab and the side effects tab to find out more.

How to Take Extreme Clarity

  • Take one capsule daily with water

There is not much background information to the eXtreme Supplement Store, the company behind this supplement. With a name like this, you would expect to see an online store or at least a website, Facebook page, or even an address of a real store dealing in supplements.

Extreme Clarity Concerns:

  • Some of the customer feedback comments look a little suspicious
  • Side effects and interactions may be an issue yet this supplement does not appear to provide any health warnings
  • Not all the ingredients appear to be relevant for nootropic use

According to the Amazon information, eXtreme is based in Virginia but warehouse products all over America. We looked into their other products and found that there were many household items such as fitted bowl covers, and odd little things like receipt holders and vertical blind repair tabs.

Does Extreme Clarity Work?

The fact that most of the ingredients are lumped together in a proprietary blend does make this supplement hard to assess. You cannot ask the company about this point. Despite all the claims about eXtreme Supplement’s involvement and design of this supplement, they have not created this supplement. They have just bought it in to sell and have probably relabelled an inexpensive existing supplement that looks as if it may be popular.

The blend contains 546mg per serving. It contains caffeine (some customers have said too much caffeine) plus some nootropic ingredients in unknown quantities, but that do come with evidence that they can help support brain function. It seems unlikely that the content will conform to the clinical testing but nootropic research is still in early stages, so low serving sizes may be adequate to have some sort of effect. We like that the blend contains substances that are not known for too many adverse effects.

The major downside of this supplement is that it contains 120mg of St John’s Wort. Although this is a low dose (up to 900mg a day has been studied), this natural herbal ingredient can be effective as a treatment for depression and anxiety.

More seriously for long-term health, it interacts with many commonplace medications including the contraceptive pill, some heart medication, and some cancer drugs. Warfarin, Digoxin, Xanax, Docetaxel, and antihistamine drug Allegra are just a few of the drugs that should not be combined with St John’s Wort. Source

What Are The Ingredients of Extreme Clarity?

Serving size is equal to one capsule.

  • Niacin (30mg): Vitamin B3 is important for health like all the B vitamins but is not often taken in nootropic supplements because it is not really relevant to brain health. The maximum daily serving of this vitamin is 35mg – it is present in many foods. Exceeding this can cause a range of side effects.
  • Vitamin B5 (5mg): Pantothenic Acid of vitamin B5 is important for many body functions but is especially important for healthy hair, nails and skin. Again, this is an odd choice for a nootropic supplement.

Proprietary Brain Blend (546mg):

  • Caffeine: Stimulant that we are all familiar with. Caffeine can improve energy levels in the brain and body but as we all know, effects can wear off as we become accustomed to using. The average cup of coffee contains around 90mg per serving. Quantities here unknown.
  • GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid): This amino acid and neurotransmitter in the brain that works by blocking signals to the brain. Among its many functions, it is supposed to reduce anxiety.
  • Bacopa Monnieri: Chemicals called Bacosides are derived from the water hyssop plant (Bacopa monnieri). Bacopa may help reduce anxiety and improve memory function. It has an effect on dopamine and serotonin systems and it also may help the formation of neurons. Usual serving size is 300mg and it can take up to 12 weeks for any effects to be noticed. Source
  • Alpha GPC: Natural substance which may help improve acetyl choline levels – the brains most abundant chemical. Alpha glycerylphosphorylcholine in supplement form may help with many neurological disorders such as dementia, and it may improve thinking skills and alertness but it requires further research. Serving size has also yet to be determined.
  • L Theanine: An amino acid found in tea which has a calming yet energizing effect and if you are a fan of tea drinking, you will already know this fact! It appears to negate some of the adverse effects of caffeine.
  • Phosphatidylserine: Chemical that is manufactured in the body as well as obtainable by diet in foods such as cabbage and offal, and it is an important part of your cell structure. Phosphatidylserine is taken in supplement form because it may improve memory and thinking skills. Research has shown it may help dementia sufferers.
  • L Tyrosine: Amino acid present in cheese. It helps the body convert fat to energy and it may help mental functioning, but using it for this purpose is usually administered in the form of N Acetyl Tyrosine.
  • Huperzine A: Natural chemical derived from a Chinese plant called Club Moss, but regarded as a drug by many scientists because it undergoes a lengthy manufacture process. Research suggests it is effective for a variety of brain conditions including memory loss, dementia and mild mental impairment. Source
  • St John’s Wort (120mg): This common garden plant has been used as a remedy for depression for 2000 years so there is obviously something to it. There is scientific evidence that St. John’s Wort may be helpful in treating mild depression, but its main problem is the interaction with other prescription drugs. At the last count, it has been shown that St John’s Wort reduces or counteracts the effectiveness of 22 prescription medicine, including some heart and chemotherapy drugs. Serving size here is low compared to clinical testing, which saw 900mg a day via three servings. Source

Does Extreme Clarity Have Any Side Effects?

Customers have not mentioned side effects which we find surprising, because there are likely to be some adverse reactions from using this supplement judging by the ingredient list.

Vitamin B3 is well known for causing facial flushing and red uncomfortable skin which although is harmless, can be alarming.

St John’s Wort may cause:

  • Vivid dreams
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Insomnia
  • Stomach pains
  • Restlessness
  • Infertility

Other side effects may include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Changes to blood pressure
  • Increased saliva and urine
  • Headaches

Caution:

Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive. Speak to your doctor before use especially if you have an existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication because this supplement will cause drug interactions.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Extreme Clarity?

There is customer feedback for Extreme Clarity, and some customers are pleased.

I’ve been using this brain supplement for about month now and I really can tell a difference. My recollection is more sharp. I think this product has really allowed me to focus and concentrate for much longer periods of time. I will be buying again soon.

I have only been taking Extreme Clarity for the past week consistently and I do see a difference in my concentration at work! Thanks so much!

Some customers have complained about the caffeine.

I think the caffeine in it is a little too much for me, because I also like to have coffee, so it puts me a little over my caffeine tolerance. But, there is a noticeable difference in my alertness throughout the day, I am pleased with it!

This product has an excessive amount of caffeine.

Many customers, however, have not noticed any effects.

I gave this stuff a try for 12 days. It does nothing. No clarity, no boost in energy. Nothing at all. It doesn’t even seem to contain caffeine. I feel nothing. I’m returning.

I took this bottle every day along with my normal vitamin until it was completely gone and I really didn’t notice any difference in clarity that this supplement claims to provide. I don’t know if I need to take it longer to see the results, but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this again.

Does Extreme Clarity Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?
