iQ²

The different ingredients used in a supplement are obviously vitally important in determining how effective it will be. However, the dosage of each ingredient used is also incredibly important; if the dose is too low, the product will not work well, if at all. Whilst some manufacturers hide their ingredient quantities behind a proprietary formula, the manufacturers of IQ² have provided individual ingredient quantities, for full disclosure.

Below we take an in-depth look at IQ² to see what benefits it offers consumers.

iQ² Pros

  • Contains a blend of effective nootropics
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Individual ingredient quantities listed- no proprietary formula

iQ² Cons

  • Expensive supplement

What You Need To Know About iQ²

IQ² is a nootropic supplement that offers a range of benefits, including “a better ability to concentrate, a relaxed yet focused state, and a much improved ability to recall information.”

There are no reports of side effects occurring in the available customer reviews. Each bottle contains 60 capsules.

What Are The Side Effects Of iQ²?

Some of the individual ingredients used in IQ² could potentially cause some side effects.

Each serving of two capsules of IQ² contains about 80 mg of caffeine, roughly the same amount found in a cup of coffee.

Side effects of caffeine can include headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia.

Vinpocetine can cause some side effects including stomach pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, headache, dizziness, nervousness, and flushing of the face.

Huperzine A can cause a range of side effects including digestive issues, stomach issues, blurred vision, loss of appetite, sweating, cramping, high blood pressure, and other issues. The likelihood of side effects occurring increases when the supplement is taken for a prolonged period of time, and cycling the product (with a break in use every four weeks or so) is recommended to reduce the chances of side effects occurring.

Side effects that can be caused by DMAE include constipation, itching, headache, drowsiness, insomnia, excitation, vivid dreams, confusion, depression, increased blood pressure, an increase in schizophrenia symptoms, and unwanted movements of the face and mouth.

How Much Does iQ² Cost?

IQ² can be purchased from the official iq2labs website, where a single bottle costs $69.95 with free shipping. Customers can also sign up to a monthly auto-ship program; customers will be shipped a new bottle of the product monthly, and are charged a reduced rate of $54.95 per bottle. This repeat delivery option will continue until cancelled. There is also a bulk buy option; a purchase of three bottles costs $159.95, again with free delivery.

The supplement is also available from Amazon, which is the cheapest option. Here a single bottle costs $49.95, with free shipping.

Each bottle contains 60 capsules, and consumers are instructed to take two capsules a day, but can take up to four capsules daily if required. This means that a single bottle should last for anywhere between 15 and 30 days of use. If you find that you need to take the highest daily dose, then this supplement will be expensive to use in the long-term.

Our Verdict On iQ²

Overall, we are impressed with IQ². The supplement combines a variety of nootropic ingredients that have a mixture of clinical and anecdotal support behind them. The amounts used of each active ingredient generally falls in line with the amounts recommended by clinical research; taking two capsules should be effective, but topping up with a second serving will boost the effects of the supplement further.

We found no reports of side effects occurring whilst taking this supplement. Each serving of two capsules contains as much caffeine as a cup of coffee, which is a very reasonable amount.

The product is covered by a money-back guarantee that lasts for 30 days from the date of purchase. Customers who want a refund do not have to send the product back to the manufacturers, a generous offer we rarely see. There are some restrictions to help prevent people from taking advantage of this policy, but they are clearly laid out on the official website.

We recommend IQ² to our readers!

What Does iQ² Claim To Do?

The manufacturers provide the following list of IQ²’s benefits:

  • Natural and safe brain vitamins with cocoa flavanols
  • Process new information faster
  • Remember facts and figures
  • Precise memory
  • Elevated willpower and determination
  • Clear Mental Energy
  • Enhanced Focus

The manufacturers have also posted the following information on their FAQs page of their official website, under the question “What should I expect from IQ²?”

“The results you’ll see after taking iQ² will vary depending on your unique brain chemistry and factors such as how rested you are, the time of day when you take it, and your general state of health. However, most users report a better ability to concentrate, a relaxed yet focused state, and a much improved ability to recall information.”

Does iQ² Work?

Studies suggest that the dose of choline needed for improved memory is around 250 mg per day, whilst the dose needed for improved cognitive function in the elderly was four times that amount. A two capsule serving of this supplement provides 400 mg of choline. Choline Bitartrate and DMAE might increase levels of acetylcholine in the brain, which is a neurotransmitter linked with improved learning, memory retention, and recall.

Vinpocetine could both help to improve mental energy and memory, but the clinical evidence is generally inadequate, as the trials that have been conducted are extremely limited, biased, and outdated.

Huperzine A could help to boost cognitive function. Caffeine is not strictly a nootropic ingredient, but it can increase energy levels and alertness, as well as providing a small boost to the consumer’s metabolic rate. Cocao could help to improve circulation, offers a good source of antioxidants, and could help to boost cognition (although the mechanisms behind this are not well understood).

What Are The Ingredients of iQ²?

The ingredients found in IQ² are detailed below. The ingredient quantities listed are per serving of two capsules, and consumers can take up to two servings per day.

  • Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCl) 10 mg (500% RDA)
  • Folic Acid 400 mcg (100% RDA)
  • Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) 400 mcg (6667% RDA)
  • Pantothenic Acid (as Calcium-D-Pantothenate 50 mg (500% RDA)

Ingredients are as follows.

  • Choline Bitartrate 400 mg: Choline supplementation appears to improve attention, and could improve memory, although the dose was much higher than appears to be used here, and the relevant study focused upon the elderly. Choline is required to make increased levels of acetylcholine in the brain. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which is linked with improved learning, memory retention, and recall. Source
  • Raw Cacao Bean Powder 400 mg: Cacao, or more specifically the cocoa flavanols found within it, have been shown in numerous clinical trials to be effective at increasing vasodilation (making your blood vessels dilate, allowing through more blood), and improving circulation. There is also some preliminary evidence that chocolate consumption is correlated with improved cognitive performance, but the mechanisms behind this link are not understood. Source
  • Guarana Seed Extract 200 mg: Contains caffeine. Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive. Source
  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine 150 mg: There is some evidence that supplementation of acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. The ingredient also boosts energy levels, and is used to treat fatigue. Source
  • DMAE Bitartrate 100 mg: This ingredient is marketed as a memory and mood enhancer, as it is a major chemical component of choline. There is currently little clinical evidence to support the notion that it contributes to brain cognition to the same extent as choline itself (which is also found in this supplement). It may help to increase levels of acetylcholine in the brain. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which is linked with improved learning, memory retention, and recall. Source
  • Vinpocetine 10 mg: Vinpocetine may increase blood flow to the brain, and so may help to treat fatigue and improve memory; despite claims about research being extensive, most research is outdated and uses biased research methods. Because it is an entirely synthetic chemical, that requires significant lab-work to produce, there is some debate as to whether this ingredient actually qualifies as a supplement under US and FDA guidelines. Source
  • Huperzine-A (from Toothed Clubmoss Aerial Parts Extract) 100 mcg: Huperzine-A is found in Huperzia serrata, and is thought to be a cognitive enhancer. Previous studies have found it to be effective as a memory enhancer for adults suffering with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Because of the relatively long half-life of this compound, its use should be cycled, with breaks in usage every few weeks. Source

Does iQ² Have Any Side Effects?

Unlike many other supplements, the manufacturers of IQ² do not claim that this supplement is absolutely side effect free. They do state that “The majority of users don’t experience any side effects”, and that “People who are sensitive to vitamins may report a mild stomach discomfort, which is common with all supplements. Any effects are temporary and usually disappear within a day or two.”

  1. Please do not send me any more CelebralX. Also, I want instructions to return last bottle. I need a RMA.

  2. Frank Morse says:

I like the idea of iQ2, but am extremely negatively sensitive to caffeine. At age 67, I DO want a supplement providing Acetylcholine! (hopefully, in a one-pill-per-day dose – with ZERO caffeine).
    Any ideas or advice?
