Lumonol Luna Overview

What You Need To Know About Lumonol Luna

Lumonol Luna is a supplement that may help you combat insomnia so that you can achieve nights of deep healing sleep. This is essential for good health and has many benefits including improved mental functioning and even weight loss. The supplement contains a range of herbal ingredients that are known for inducing sleep, so it looks as if this supplement may work for some people.

However, it is very expensive compared to very similar looking products on the market. Check with your physician first if you are taking prescription medication because this supplement could cause interactions.

What Are The Side Effects Of Lumonol Luna?

Although the ingredients quantities are not high, side effects may include agitation, anxiety, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, and of course, some drowsiness.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking prescription medication, because Lumonol Luna may cause interactions. Avoid if you are allergic to Chamomile.

How Much Does Lumonol Luna Cost?

Lumonol Luna is quite expensive for a sleep aid. Buy from the official Lumonol website where one bottle of 60 capsules (30 servings) costs $29.97 makes the daily cost about a dollar a night.

You can make savings on larger orders. 3 x bottles of Lumonol Luna costs $ 79.87 and includes free shipping to US addresses.

Lumonol Luna is also available in product bundles on the Lumonol site where you can buy it with Lumonol Wisdom or original Lumonol.

You are encouraged to sign up to “Subscribe and Save.” This is an auto-ship option where fresh supplies are delivered to you each month and your bank or credit card charged automatically. We don’t advise you choose this option because you may find it hard to cancel.

Lumonol Luna is available to customers outside the USA with shipping calculated at the point of sale. The cheapest European shipping option adds a further $14.97 to the price.

You can also buy Lumonol Luna from Amazon for $30.97 for 60 capsules.

Our Verdict On Lumonol Luna

Lumonol Luna looks OK and although some of the ingredients may just be fillers, there are enough proven ingredients to make this a viable sleep aid. There is enough evidence to support most of the claims made on the bottle.

In our opinion, Lumonol Luna will probably work but we do have concerns. Firstly this supplement is expensive compared to many similar looking products on the market. And as some of the ingredients are known to react with prescription medication, this supplement will not be suitable for everyone.

Overall, Lumonol Luna looks like one of the better Lumonol supplements in the range but is still not good enough to approve.

We do not recommend Lumonol Luna to the Watchdog readers.

Lumonol Luna Key Features

If flagging mental and physical energy levels are leaving you feeling numb, then Lumonol Luna might be a supplement worth looking at.

The Lumonol Luna advertising states;

“One in 3 of us now suffers from poor sleep, with stress, computers and taking work home often blamed. However, the cost of all those sleepless nights is more than just bad moods and a lack of focus. Regular poor sleep puts you at risk of serious medical conditions, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes and it shortens your life expectancy.”

Lumonol Luna Facts

  • Sleep enhancement aid Nootropic Supplement
  • Manufactured by Avanse Nutraceuticals makers of Lumonol
  • Bottle of Lumonol Luna contains 60 capsules
  • Ingredients contain Magnesium, Valerian Root Powder, Gamma Aminobutyric acid (GABA), Passion Flower Powder, Chamomile Powder, Lemon balm powder, and melatonin.

Lumonol Luna contains a mix of ingredients that look to the wisdom of herbal medicine combined with more modern nootropic ingredients, to get you to sleep.

The supplement includes Magnesium an important mineral, Valerian Root, Passionflower, Chamomile, and Lemon Balm, all of which are traditional sleep-inducing herbs.

It also contains Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) and Melatonin. We like this combination of traditional herbal medicines like Chamomile and Lemon Balm mixed with more modern nootropic ingredients like GABA.

Most of these ingredients will help you sleep with the exception of Passionflower, which was taken off sale in the US market in 1978 because there was just not enough evidence to support its usefulness or effectiveness.

How to Take Lumonol Luna

  • The Lumonol Luna Label advises that you take two capsules daily, presumably before you go to bed although this is not actually specified

Lumonol is a nootropics brand with products for a wide range of ages, including children and seniors, and many different purposes. The original product is simply called Lumonol which we covered in a previous review.

There is also a supplement aimed at children called Lumonol Prep, and one aimed at the over 60s called Lumonol Wisdom.

Lumonol Luna Concerns:

  • It is probably obvious, but taking Lumonol Luna will make you drowsy sometimes so operating machinery should be avoided
  • Some people may have an allergic reaction to Chamomile (Anaphylaxis) and should probably avoid chamomile related products
  • You should not use without the advice of your doctor if you are taking some types of prescription medication, including blood pressure tablets, thyroid medication, or diabetes medication, but will customers realize?

According to the product information, you can combine Lumonol Luna with many other Lumonol products in the range.

The Lumonol brand is owned by a company called Avanse Nutraceuticals. There is very little background information about Avanse Nutraceuticals, not even a proper address or an official website, making the whole set up look a little dodgy.

What Does Lumonol Luna Claim To Do?

The advertising states on Lumonol Luna label:

“Do you struggle to fall asleep? Most of us do. Poor diets, lack of exercise, or being unable to leave the day behind and “switch off” are all common reasons you may feel like you’re endlessly going through the motions.”

“For feeling your best, never underestimate the brain boosting recharge given during quality sleep. Benefits can include:

  • Strengthened Brain Functions such as Balance, Focus & Memory
  • Rest Promotes Health & Longevity/better skin/appearance etc
  • Quality Sleep Aids in Fat Loss & Weight Maintenance
  • Deep Sleep Enhances Mood & Emotional Intelligence”

Does Lumonol Luna Work?

It is important to point out here that the benefits of deep sleep are not necessarily the same as the benefits of this supplement.

However, deep sleep is crucial for physical renewal, hormonal regulation, and growth. Without deep sleep, you’re more likely to get sick, feel depressed, and gain an unhealthy amount of weight.

The ingredients in Lumonol Luna are just the sort of ingredients you would expect for a sleep aid.

Melatonin, GABA, and Magnesium are known to aid sleep, especially when the body is not getting enough of these due to poor environmental or dietary situations.

Passionflower and Valerian root, although used and prescribed for centuries, have only anecdotal scientific evidence to support their use as a sleep aid.

Many people believe Lemon Balm has calming effects so it is taken for anxiety, sleep problems, and restlessness. Taking Lemon Balm along with other sedative medications might cause a little too much sleepiness. Some people may have an allergic reaction to Chamomile (Anaphylaxis) and should probably avoid it.

Chamomile contains Apigenin (a bioflavonoid compound), when consumed in high doses it creates anxiety-reducing effects and at even greater doses it may be a sedative.

On the whole, Lumonol Luna has these ingredients at a safe to low dosage and unless you are on diabetes or thyroid medications, or have undergone recent surgery, it should work safely for you.

What Are The Ingredients of Lumonol Luna?

Serving size is equal to two capsules.

  • Magnesium (100mg): Magnesium is an essential dietary mineral. Magnesium can help to improve sleep quality. Magnesium deficiencies are the second most common deficiency in developed countries, the first being vitamin D. A lack of magnesium will raise blood pressure and reduce insulin sensitivity. Magnesium can help to improve sleep quality and lack of sleep may be an indicator of magnesium deficiency. Other prominent sources of magnesium, like nuts and leafy vegetables, are another possible way to fix a magnesium deficiency through dietary changes.
  • Valerian Root Powder (400mg): Known as Valeriana officinalis is made from Valerian plant roots and is usually taken as a herbal tea or supplements. It is commonly used for its sedative and anxiety-reducing effects. Although Valerian is generally regarded as highly safe with few side-effects, current evidence suggests it is not very effective. Placebo effect or not, Valerian is a popular supplement taken as a sleep aid and anxiety reducer.
  • Gamma Aminobutyric acid (400mg): Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) inhibits nerve transmission in the brain which acts to calm nervous activity. Phenibut is a chemical similar to the brain chemical called gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is used as medicine. Phenibut is used for anxiety, fear, trouble sleeping (insomnia), tension, stress, fatigue, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, alcoholism, and irregular heartbeat. It is also used for improving memory, learning, and thinking. GABA is the most potent depressive neuroamine in human brains. It regulates many of the depressive and sedative actions in brain tissue, and is critical for relaxation. It doesn’t seem to exert depressive effects unless overdosed to an inadvisable level.
  • Passion Flower Herb Powder (25mg): Passionflower is used for insomnia, gastrointestinal upset related to anxiety or nervousness and generalized anxiety disorders. Passion flower extract was taken off the U.S. market in 1978 because its safety and effectiveness had not been proven, however many users say it works!
  • Chamomile Powder (25mg): the active ingredient in Chamomile tea is Apigenin (a bioflavonoid compound) which although found in a wide variety of plants and herbs, is plentiful in Chamomile tea. When consumed in high doses, it creates anxiety-reducing effects and at even greater doses it may be a sedative. Apigenin is water-soluble, and Chamomile tea is a great non-alcoholic source because red wine and beer also have higher levels of Apigenin. Apigenin has anxiety-reducing effects by acting in a similar way to valium, however it is considered safe at doses of 3-10mg/kg bodyweight in short-term use. Sedation was observed at 30-100mg/kg body weight. Source
  • Lemon Balm Powder (12.5mg): Lemon Balm is a perennial herbaceous plant of the mint family. Many people believe it has calming effects so it is taken for anxiety, sleep problems, and restlessness. Medications that cause sleepiness are called sedatives. Taking lemon balm along with sedative medications might cause too much sleepiness.
  • Melatonin (1mg): is a hormone found naturally in the body. Melatonin that is used as medicine is usually made synthetically in a laboratory. Melatonin is used for insomnia, delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS); rapid eye movements sleep behavior disorder (RBD). It is also used for insomnia associated with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and insomnia due to certain high blood pressure medications called beta-blockers. Commonly available in pill form, but melatonin is also available in forms that can be placed in the cheek or under the tongue. This allows the melatonin to be absorbed directly into the body.

Does Lumonol Luna Have Any Side Effects?

Although the ingredient levels are not that high, there are some potential side effects. These may include:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Upset stomach
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Feeling excited or uneasy
  • Changes to blood sugar levels
  • Short-term depression

Caution:

Some people may have an allergic reaction to Chamomile (Anaphylaxis) and should probably avoid chamomile related products. If you have a thyroid or diabetes condition it may be advisable to avoid this supplement. Melatonin can make symptoms of depression worse in some cases and can also raise blood pressure. Avoid taking it if you are under medications to control blood pressure. Lumonol Luna will make you drowsy so it is not advisable to use machinery while under the influence especially if taken with other medications for this purpose.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Lumonol Luna?

There are currently no Amazon reviews for Lumonol Luna.

Does Lumonol Luna Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

There seems to be a money-back guarantee on offer but on closer inspection, this is not as good as it seems. The 90-day money-back guarantee covers only unopened bottles, so is not more than a standard returns policy.

Where Can I Buy Lumonol Luna?

You can buy Lumonol Luna direct from the official product website. where for an extra $14.97 they will ship to the UK. The company encourages a sign up to auto-billing where fresh supplies are sent each month, and the payment is automatically taken directly from your credit card account.

Although this option comes at a slightly discounted price, we don’t recommend auto-ship programs because they can be hard to get out of.

Lumonol Luna is also sold from Amazon US for $30.97.
