In the USA, the supplements industry falls largely outside of the jurisdiction of the FDA unless companies make serious breaches of the law. This means that some companies push the limits of what they are allowed to state about supplements, as well as what they are allowed to use in the products. The manufacturers of NaturaRelief seem to be guilty of this.

Below we take an in-depth look at NaturaRelief, to see whether the claims made by the manufacturers match the actual benefits of the supplement.

NaturaRelief Pros

What You Need To Know About NaturaRelief

The manufacturers of NaturaRelief make an extensive list of claims about the benefits of NatureRelief. The most ridiculous and potentially dangerous claim that they make is that by taking NaturaRelief for 90 days, consumers can cure their OCD, ADHD, or Bipolar disorder. Under FDA regulations, it is illegal for the manufacturers to make this claim, as the product is an untested and unregulated supplement, not a medicine.

Worryingly, NaturaRelief contains a dangerous ingredient called Kava, an anti-anxiety ingredient known to potentially cause fatal liver damage after just one month of use.

What Are The Side Effects Of NaturaRelief?

NaturaRelief could cause severe side effects and may even be harmful to consumer health. The product contains Kava Kava, a narcotic from the South Pacific that can cause liver damage and death after just a few weeks. Former consumers of Kava Kava have required liver transplants after showing signs of acute liver damage (yellowing skin and eyes, dark urine, and extreme fatigue). Fatalities have also resulted from the use of Kava, leading it be banned in the EU and Canada.

Many of the other ingredients found in NaturaRelief could also cause a range of side effects.

Potential side effects of Valerian root include headache, excitability, uneasiness, and even insomnia in some people. Some people feel sluggish in the morning after taking valerian, especially at higher doses.

Passion Flower can cause side effects including dizziness, confusion, irregular muscle action and coordination, altered consciousness, and inflamed blood vessels.

Although Tyrosine is generally well tolerated in very high doses, it can cause some side effects including nausea, headache, fatigue, heartburn, and joint pain.

St. John’s Wort can cause some side effects such as trouble sleeping, vivid dreams, restlessness, anxiety, irritability, stomach upset, fatigue, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, skin rash, diarrhoea, and tingling. When taken by mouth in large doses, it might cause severe reactions to sun exposure. Wear sun block outside, especially if you are light-skinned. In people with major depression, St. John’s wort might bring on mania, a state marked by excessive physical activity and impulsive behaviour.

Large doses of ashwaganda can cause stomach upset, diarrhoea, and vomiting. It can also change blood pressure levels.

How Much Does NaturaRelief Cost?

NaturaRelief can be purchased from any of the three websites that they use to promote the product, Naturarelief.com, naturarelief-ocd.com, and naturarelief-bipolar.com. There is seemingly no option to buy a single bottle.

3 month supply costs $89.99, 6 month supply costs $139.99, and a 12 month supply costs $219.99. Delivery charges also apply.

Our Verdict On NaturaRelief

We are not impressed by NaturaRelief at all. The manufacturer shows blatant disregard for both the law and the safety of their customers, which is obviously unacceptable. The ingredients list is not fit for the advertised purpose- supposedly curing ADHD, Bi-polar, and OCD. Under American law, supplement manufacturers are not allowed to make unfounded claims about the benefits of supplements, and are definitely not allowed to make medical claims about supplements treating or curing illnesses or diseases; NaturaRelief are clearly breaching this law! They claim to have proven in trials that this supplement works better than prescription drug treatments, that it is side effect-free and safe, and that it will fix imbalances in the brain that cause ADHD, OCD, and Bipolar. All of these statements are outright lies.

The supplement could theoretically help to reduce anxiety and work as an herbal sleep aid, but even for this purpose we would not recommend it! No ingredient quantities are provided, making it impossible to establish the strength of the supplement. In addition to this, one of the ingredients, Kava Kava, is incredibly dangerous, and can quickly cause liver poisoning, and has led to numerous people requiring liver transplants. It is banned in Europe and Canada because of the danger it poses to consumers.

Whilst they claim that they offer a satisfaction guarantee, reading through the terms and conditions reveals that the manufacturers of NaturaRelief do not accept any refunds at all! The “satisfaction guarantee” they offer is not related to returns or refunds at all. If the product does not work within six months (and customers manage to jump through various hoops laid out by the company), then customers can be sent more bottles of NaturaRelief for “free”, if they pay delivery charges. This is an awful policy that in no way makes up for a lack of a returns policy.

Overall, we do not recommend NaturaRelief to our readers.

NaturaRelief Review

NaturaRelief is a non-medical nootropic supplement that is wrongly marketed as a treatment and even as a cure for ADHD, bi-polar disorder, and OCD. The manufacturers claim that “after 90 days of using NaturaRelief, it gets to the root of the problem, restoring balance”, and that 98% of our customers have no more symptoms, and do not have to reorder our product”. They also claim that the product is proven through studies “to outperform the established ADD, ADHD, OCD and Bipolar prescription drugs without the negative side effects so often associated to these drugs.” They offer no proof for these claims, most likely because it simply does not exist. The claims that this product is without side effects is also simply not true, as it contains Kava Kava, an ingredient known to cause liver poisoning and even death.

NaturaRelief Facts

  • Not possible to buy a single bottle
  • Manufacturers make illegal medical claims about product
  • Kava Kava known to cause liver poisoning

Does NaturaRelief Work?

The ingredients used in NaturaRelief will neither relieve the symptoms of nor cure OCD, ADD, ADHD, or Bipolar disorder. It is not a replacement for prescription medication, and should not be used as such. If you have been diagnosed with any of the afore-mentioned conditions, consult your doctor before purchasing this product (although we heavily suspect that your doctor will advise you to not purchase this supplement).

The ingredients used in the supplement are mostly mild sedatives and herbal remedies for mild anxiety and insomnia. The manufacturers do not reveal any ingredient quantities, and so it is impossible to know whether or not the ingredients in NaturaRelief are present in sufficient quantities to be effective sleep aids.

In short, NaturaRelief will not work as advertised, and it is questionable whether or not it would work as a sleep aid or as an herbal treatment for anxiety.

What Are The Ingredients of NaturaRelief?

The ingredients found in NaturaRelief are detailed below. The manufacturers to do not provide any ingredient quantities at all, not even a proprietary dosage.

  • Valerian Root: Can be used to treat insomnia and mild anxiety. A mild sedative. Source
  • Passion Flower: Passion flower is an herbal remedy used as a mild sedative and sleep aid. It is also used to help reduce mild anxiety. Source
  • Kava Kava: This beverage is used as a social drink in the South Pacific (similar to the way Westerners use alcohol). It can be used to treat anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia. Despite its effectiveness, Kava is known to cause serious health issues up to and including death. It is banned in Europe and Canada. Source
  • Hops: Hops flowers are used to treat anxiety and insomnia. It could also increase the consumer’s appetite. Source
  • Ashwagandha: It is thought that use of Ashwaganda root lowers cortisol levels in the brain and body. Cortisol is a hormone produced during moments of stress, and having high cortisol levels in the long term can have numerous negative health effects. Source
  • Skullcap: Skullcap may act as a sedative, and so is sometimes used to treat insomnia. There are numerous varieties of skullcap, and some websites warn consumers that supplements do not always use Scuttelaria lateriflora, the species of Skullcap that has been studies in medical trials. Source
  • Hyperforin (St. Johns Wart): St. John’s Wart is used herbally to reduce anxiety, treat the symptoms of mild depression, and improve mood in general. Source
  • Rhodiola Rosea Root: This plant has been shown to increase endurance in rats forced to swim for long periods of time. It may also help to improve recovery time after exhaustive exercise. There is little clinical evidence based upon humans. Source
  • Ruta Graveolens (Herb of Grace)
  • L-Tyrosine: An amino acid that is a building block of protein, this ingredient is found naturally in many foods including meat and dairy products. Some people use it as an appetite suppressant, but there is little evidence that it is effective for this use. Large doses of tyrosine may be useful for increasing alertness, especially in people who are sleep deprived. Source
  • L-Theanine: This amino acid is found in green tea, and may increase feelings of relaxation. It may also reduce the negative side effects of caffeine, although there is seemingly no clinical evidence to support this claim. Source
  • Selenium (Vitamin)

Does NaturaRelief Have Any Side Effects?

There are numerous ingredients found in NaturaRelief that could potentially cause a range of side effects. No ingredient quantities are provided at all, making it impossible to establish the likelihood of any side effects occurring.

The most dangerous of these ingredients is undoubtedly Kava Kava, which has been known to cause liver poisoning, permanent liver damage and even death, even within a few weeks of taking it. Numerous people have required liver transplants after taking Kava Kava, and it is banned across Europe, the UK and Canada because of the danger it poses to consumers. This is obviously an ingredient to be avoided. Anyone who has taken Kava Kava should watch for signs of liver damage, including yellowed eyes and skin, fatigue, and dark urine.

Although Tyrosine is tolerated generally in very high doses, it can cause some side effects including nausea, headache, fatigue, heartburn, and joint pain.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For NaturaRelief?

We have struggled to locate many customer reviews of NaturaRelief. The sales website features some testimonials, but as testimonials are inherently biased and are selected to help to sell the product, we have discounted these.

I bought this for my son who is ADHD. He had been on ritalin for several months to help with his schooling. I had hoped to be able to find an alternative remedy for him. This is not it. It actually heightened his symptoms as far as being unsettled, making constant noise and being oppositional. I guess it will be down to individuals, but it was a sad investment for me.

On 9/23/2015, I ordered a supplement product entitled NaturaRelief(Bipolar/ADD/OCD Treatment. It is an herbal supplement consisting of 180 capsules. This is a 3 month supply. Full money back guarantee was offered. Glowing reviews were on the website of NS Products.

The only address was “[email protected] There has been no response to three emails to that email address where I requested a return code to enable me to ship the non-functioning product back for full refund. Item was used for over a week and I developed a rash, itching, and was not at all satisfied. No way to contact. No address. No telephone number. I believe I have been scammed as they have my credit card, the charge has been applied and I am stuck with no way to get a return and money back.

Does NaturaRelief Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

The manufacturers of NaturaRelief state that they offer a six month guarantee on their products, but reading the small print reveals that this is not a money back guarantee; if you take the product for six months without seeing results, they claim that they will send you free bottles of NutraRelief to take until it does work (after you pay additional delivery charges). In general, they do not appear to accept any returns.

  1. I ordered NaturaRelief for my husband for the manic-depression. I read the ingredients and thought I would take it for insomnia. He took 2 a day. I took 1 in the evening. His symptoms began to disappear. No side effects. If you have had the disorder longer it may take a maintenance dose 1 a day for longer than 3 months.
