NeuroGum is one of many brain-boosting supplements available today, but it is unique because it is available in the form of chewing gum. It is supposed to help you improve your memory and prevent cognitive decline through regular consumption. It certainly has some natural ingredients and loads of stimulants, caffeine, but it still fails to fulfil all its promises. Here is why we think NeuroGum is not a great choice and you will be better off trying another scientifically proven nootropic supplement.
Many people say that NeuroGum works, and that is mainly because it contains caffeine, which is a stimulant. The thing with stimulants is that they work when you first start to take them, and it is not different with caffeine. Studies suggest that habitual caffeine use can result in tolerance, which means you will have to increase your dose to get the same effects as you first started taking caffeine.
Caffeine in NeuroGum blocks receptors for adenosine, a chemical that inhibits the release of excitatory chemicals in the brain. It means that that caffeine blocks adenosine and makes it possible for brain-sparking chemicals to flow freely. However, there is not enough research to confirm that caffeine is equally beneficial for mental function, as evident from the following.

How to Take NeuroGum
You will find 9 servings of NeuroGum per container, and you have to take 1 serving whenever you require some energy. It claims to provide you with those effects in about 5–10 minutes.
This means that NeuroGum is not going to make a lot of difference here, and it is not going to change even considering the fact that it provides you with 60 mg of L-Theanine. Participants received L-theanine or a placebo in a double blind repeated measurement design protocol study. The results demonstrated enhanced activity of alpha bands, descending heart rate, elevated visual attentional performance, and improved reaction time response among high anxiety propensity subjects compared to a placebo.
It means that you are not going to get impressive results if you do not already have high anxiety. Moreover, we believe that L-Theanine in NeuroGum is not going to make any difference because the recommended dose is at least 200 mg, and some studies have even used up to 250 mg, so NeuroGum may not help a lot with only 60 mg of L-Theanine.

NeuroGum also provides you with B-vitamins, specifically vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. While these vitamins are essential for good health, there is not enough research to confirm that supplementing with B-vitamins prevent cognitive decline or boost memory. It is also important to mention that isolated vitamin B6 deficiency is quite uncommon, and there is no evidence that vitamin B6 can relieve anxiety or boost cognitive function when you are not already deficient in it. Moreover, you really do not need to use a supplement to get vitamin B6 because you can get plenty of it from dietary sources, including milk, shrimp, salmon, tuna, cheese, chicken, lentils, beef liver, brown rice, spinach, carrots, and more.
In case of vitamin B12, which helps convert carbohydrates into glucose for energy products, you may not notice a great change in your memory or alertness. Many studies show that supplementing with B12 may help boost energy but that is only when you have pernicious anaemia.

Claims are made that vitamin B12 administration will improve energy levels, memory, concentration and mood. All of these are true when people deficient in vitamin B12 are treated; however, there is no evidence at all of those clinical benefits when the vitamin is given to persons who are not deficient.
