Below we take an in-depth look at Optineuro Xcel to see whether or not it improves alertness and concentration, as suggested by its British manufacturers.
Optineuro Xcel is a nootropic supplement designed to increase concentration and focus, and to improve memory. It is a different supplement to Optineuro that we have previously reviewed, which is also manufactured by the same company.
Optineuro Xcel is manufactured by a British company and is seemingly only available to customers within the UK, via Amazon.
Some of the ingredients found in Optineuro Xcel could potentially cause a range of side effects.
Although Tyrosine is tolerated generally in very high doses, it can cause some side effects including nausea, headache, fatigue, heartburn, and joint pain.
A-GPC can cause side effects in some people including heartburn, headache, insomnia, dizziness, skin rash, and confusion.
Theanine causes a state of relaxation without drowsiness, and may help to counteract some of the potential side effects of caffeine, such as jitteriness. Consumers should still ensure that they do not consume caffeine within 5 hours of bedtime, as caffeine can interfere with sleep cycles. Side effects of caffeine can include headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia.
Studies have shown that Bacopa leaf causes upset stomachs in participants much more than placebos. This has led to the recommendation that this ingredient be taken with a meal, rather than on an empty stomach, as this will minimize the chances of getting an upset stomach. It may also may cause nausea, cramping, bloating, and diarrhoea.
Side effects of Phosphatidylserine can include insomnia and stomach upset, particularly at doses over 300 mg. It can be made from either plant or animal sources, and so may not be suitable for vegetarians.
Korean Ginseng can cause the consumer to have trouble sleeping. Other side effects from Korean Ginseng include changes in blood pressure, headaches, agitation, an upset stomach, and dizziness. It is possible (but unusual) to be allergic to Korean Ginseng.
Black pepper extract can increase the absorption of some other compounds into the bloodstream; this increases the likelihood of side effects being caused by other supplements or medicines you are taking. Black pepper extract can increase the chances of accidental overdose of some medications. Consult your doctor if you are taking any medications.
Optineuro Xcel can be purchased from Amazon’s UK website, where a single bottle costs £49.99. Delivery charges may apply. Customers who have Amazon Prime can get free one day shipping.
Each bottle contains 90 capsules, which works out to be a 30 day supply. Optineuro Xcel is a relatively expensive nootropic supplement.
We are not hugely impressed by Optineuro Xcel; the product contains 18 active ingredients but only a few are actually considered to act as nootropic ingredients. The main ingredient, guarana (which contains caffeine), is not considered to be a true nootropic, but it can boost alertness and energy levels.
The product is not covered by a money back guarantee, as the product is covered only by Amazon’s regular returns policy.
Optineuro Xcel is also quite expensive, retailing at just under £50 per bottle. The customer reviews for Optineuro Xcel are overwhelmingly positive, but an independent website deemed there to be many low quality/suspicious reviews that have pushed up the average rating. Out of the negative and even middling reviews, many people are disappointed by the weakness of the supplement, stating that even energy drinks offer a stronger effect.
The manufacturer’s claim that each serving contains 6073 mg of active ingredients is actually quite misleading. Each serving contains just 75 mg of Gingko Biloba extract, which has been taken from 3750 mg of the dried plant (making it a 50:1 ratio), and yet the manufacturers count this larger number in their calculations.
Overall, we do not recommend Optineuro Xcel to our readers.

Optineuro Xcel is a nootropic supplement designed to increase focus, concentration, and memory. The manufacturers claim that it “can increase concentration from 20-30 minutes and longer term memory benefits after 8+ weeks of daily use”
Optineuro Xcel is manufactured by Nutribioticals Ltd, a company based in the UK. The manufacturers offer very little information about themselves on their official website, and they fail to provide an office address or contact details. Customers can contact them through Amazon or using the generic Contact box form provided on their official website.
Directions for use are as follows: Take three capsules daily with food. Drink 1.5-2 litres of water per day. Optineuro Xcel is best used daily for at least 8 weeks, then on-going. Do not exceed recommended amount unless directed by a healthcare professional.
The manufacturers provide the following description of the benefits of each ingredient in Optineuro Xcel:
“Guarana – intense mental focus, mood and memory
Phosphatidylserine (PS) – memory, learning, mood, energy, anti-ageing
Theanine – well-being and optimism
Glutamine – enhanced creativity, better verbal skills

Each serving contains a massive 6073mg”
There is a long list of ingredients that are found in this supplement, but only a few of the supplements are actually nootropics, including Phosphatidylserine, Korean Ginseng, and Bacopa Monnieri. Of these, Phosphatidylserine is dosed properly, but the featured Bacopa dose is just a third of the dosage used in successful clinical trials. Bacopa could improve memory when supplemented in the long term, whilst Phosphatidylserine could help to prevent cognitive decline.
Caffeine is technically not a nootropic ingredient, but it does temporarily boost alertness somewhat.
Ginkgo Biloba could increase circulation, which theoretically could improve alertness by increasing blood flow to the brain.
The formula also features several different amino acids; whilst some such as taurine are often used in energy drinks, there is not much evidence to link them to any boost in cognition.
Whilst there are definitely ingredients found in this supplement that could benefit various aspects of cognition, this is far from the most effective or strongest nootropic supplement we have ever seen.
The ingredients found in Optineuro Xcel are detailed below. The ingredient quantities listed are per serving of three capsules.

Side effects of Phosphatidylserine can include insomnia and stomach upset, particularly at doses over 300 mg. It can be made from either plant or animal sources, and so may not be suitable for vegetarians.
Ginkgo Biloba is generally thought to be safe, but may cause some minor issues; these include stomach upset, constipation, headache, dizziness, a pounding heartrate, and allergic skin reactions.
Korean Ginseng can cause the consumer to have trouble sleeping. Other side effects from Korean Ginseng include changes in blood pressure, headaches, agitation, an upset stomach, and dizziness. It is possible (but unusual) to be allergic to Korean Ginseng.

There are lots of customer reviews for Optineuro Xcel on Amazon, where the supplement is sold. The product is generally well reviewed, with an average rating of 4.4 out of five. However, FakeSpot indicates that there are a lot of suspicious or poor quality reviews that have positively affected this rating. Amazon have also removed over 180 fake reviews from this product’s listing before.
I found Optineuro Excel a very good product indeed. It helped me be more efficient with my time and it gave me the confidence to get on with things that I’d been putting off for ages. It is a wonderful product.

Great product, it does what it says. I’ve tried many other products like this but this one is the best. It makes me the morning wake up an easy job, at work my mind is clear and i don’t know the reason but when I use this pills I fell the need to eat healthy food (vegetables, fruits, etc) that normally i don’t eat. I found it excellent when I use it before doing sports, i feel less fatigue and i lose weight faster. I take 2 pills on a daily basis.
No effects at all. Waste of money.
I would say I would get the same result taking Proplus+. I’m yet to find an off the shelf product that can compete with the prescription type productions.
It works nearly like green coffee. I started taking it before sleep because it makes me feel unsteady.
The same thing happened to me with modafyl
I know that these stacks need time to give an effect, so I will keep taking it at night hoping for a good result in due time. then will update the review.
I wonder if this product has been tested and if there is any certificate about that as none is available.
Update 5/3/18: If you have ADHD then this is not for you, as it will further irritate your brain.
I would strongly urge people not to buy this product. I had unusual sensations in my head after taking the supplement, which were not in any way positive. I tried the supplement for a few days on two occasions and both times the sensations appeared. Definitely no cognitive improvement either. You cannot return the product, I recommend not to buy this product.
I have to say…after reading the reviews I was expecting a much better product effect, but after trying it is not as expected.
The effect is similar to drinking RedBull for the whole day, probably weaker effect. I will not recommended this product if you are looking for focus and memory improvement.
The manufacturers do not detail what their returns policy is on their official website, possibly because they just use the standard Amazon returns policy. It appears that they do not offer a money back guarantee on their supplements.
