Below we take an in-depth look at Orb Mental Focus to see what benefits it offers consumers.
Orb Mental Focus, also known as Mental Focus + Mood, is a nootropic supplement that supposedly “supports an alert yet calm mental state” and “sharpens your focus”. Orb Wellness, the manufacturers of this supplement, use a two-part delivery system that they claim increases the absorption and effectiveness of their ingredients; ingredients that have better absorption as a liquid are in oil form, whilst ingredients that are better absorbed from a dry state are enclosed in little blue “beadlettes”. Some customers have complained that the capsules are very large (especially to swallow) and yet are not filled completely.
The ingredients found in Orb Mental Focus could potentially cause a range of side effects.
Theanine causes a state of relaxation without drowsiness, and may help to counteract some of the potential side effects of caffeine, such as jitteriness. Consumers should still ensure that they do not consume caffeine within 5 hours of bedtime, as caffeine can interfere with sleep cycles. Side effects of caffeine can include headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia.
A-GPC can cause side effects in some people including heartburn, headache, insomnia, dizziness, skin rash, and confusion.
Potential side effects of Citicholine include stomach pain and diarrhoea. Ashwagandha supplementation might cause stomach upset, diarrhoea, and vomiting, especially when taken in large doses.
Huperzine A can cause a range of side effects including digestive issues, stomach issues, blurred vision, loss of appetite, sweating, cramping, high blood pressure, and other issues. The likelihood of side effects occurring increases when the supplement is taken for a prolonged period of time, and cycling the product (with a break in use every four weeks or so) is recommended to reduce the chances of side effects occurring.
Studies have shown that Bacopa leaf, also known as Bacopin, causes upset stomachs in participants much more than placebos. This has led to the recommendation that this ingredient be taken with a meal, rather than on an empty stomach, as this will minimize the chances of getting an upset stomach. It may also may cause nausea, cramping, bloating, and diarrhoea.
Orb Mental Focus can be purchased from the official Orb Wellness website. A small bottle containing 30 capsules costs $19.99, whilst a large bottle containing 60 capsules costs $39.99. Delivery charges may also apply. Customers can sign up for the company’s subscribe and save program, which offers customers a 10% discount and delivers a new bottle of the supplement every month. In general we advise our readers to avoid auto-ship programs such as this, as they can be difficult to cancel, and are easy to forget about over time. This combination often means that signing up for an auto-ship program costs customers more in the long run, even with the discounts offered.
The product is also available from GNC.com (and selected GNC stores); a bottle of 60 capsules costs $39.99 plus delivery charges. From Amazon, a single bottle of 60 capsules costs $39.99, or a bottle of 30 capsules costs $19.99. Delivery charges may apply.
We are not hugely impressed by Orb Mental Focus. The product uses a proprietary formula, meaning that no individual ingredient quantities are provided. This makes it very difficult to establish the strength of the supplement. Based upon the ingredient quantities known, it appears that some of the active ingredients are under-dosed, especially the fish oil aspect of the supplement, which is usually supplemented at a dose of a gram or more per day, but often much higher. The product is intended to be taken on an empty stomach, but contains ingredients such as Bacopa, which are quite likely to cause side effects unless taken with food. There is clinical support to suggest that some of the active ingredients may have nootropic benefits, including improving memory, mood, and focus, but as they are present in unknown quantities, it is possible that the product is limited in its potency.
The product is not covered by a money back guarantee. There are numerous customer reviews complaining about the price of the supplement, as a month’s supply of the supplement costs nearly $40.
Overall, we do not recommend Orb Mental Focus to our readers.

Orb Mental Focus, also known as Mental Focus + Mood, is a nootropic supplement that supposedly “supports an alert yet calm mental state” and “sharpens your focus”. The product contains fish oil and numerous nootropic ingredients.
Orb Mental Focus is manufactured by Orb Wellness. The company can be contacted using the information provided on their official website, or through their Social Media pages.
Directions for use are as follows: As a dietary supplement, adults take one serving (two capsules) in the morning on an empty stomach, or as needed for optimal mental performance. Do not exceed one serving per day. This product should not be taken in combination with other products containing caffeine or other stimulants. Do not take within six hours of bedtime. Please read entire label before use.
The manufacturers provide the following description of the product’s benefits:
“ORB Mental Focus + Mood is designed to fine-tune your focus. Caffeine and L-Theanine help support a calm but alert mental state, providing a smooth, time-released energy that you can actually feel working. This formula helps support memory and cognition in synergy with fish oil. When you need to be at your best, know that ORB Mental Focus + Mood is working for you.”
Orb Mental Focus combines theanine and caffeine; numerous clinical studies suggest that this combination does have mild cognitive benefits. In one study, participants performed better on “cognitively demanding tasks” including memory tasks and “attention switching” tasks (multi-tasking) when taking a caffeine-theanine blend than without, but the differences in scores were not made clear.
Caffeine also boosts alertness and energy levels, both physical and mental. Alpha-GPC may help to boost cognition, whilst Citicholine might help to support Acetylcholine levels in the brain. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which is linked with improved learning, memory retention, and recall.
Ashwagandha may help to reduce perception of stress and anxiety. Theoretically, this could have a beneficial effect upon focus, but it is not a direct link.
Because no individual ingredient quantities are provided, it is not possible to determine how strong Orb Mental Focus will actually be in practice. It is clear that some ingredients such as fish oil are under-dosed, and that others such as Bacopa are quite possibly under-dosed as well. Orb Mental Focus appears to be mild nootropic at best.
The ingredients found in Orb Mental Focus are detailed below. The individual ingredient quantities are not provided. Each serving of two capsules contains 1165 mg of the proprietary formula.

There are numerous customer reviews for Orb Mental Focus on the Amazon sales page for the product.
I took it one day got nauses so I tried it again the next day and same thing. So I didn’t take it but those two days. And I drink coffee twice a day so not sure if it was too much caffeine.
I’m very sensitive to caffeine, still didn’t feel a change when taking these. Didn’t work for me.
Those pills gave me horrible headache. The first hour you take them, you burp and it smells like fish.
These are okay, not as good as their Energy or Sleep supplements I use. I just don’t feel 100% as focused as I would like on them. I will continue to use them a few more times before I give up on them. But for a week I’m not seeing a huge difference in my focus yet.
This stuff actually works. Even though the directions say to take 2 at once, I split that into 2 doses instead by taking one in the morning after breakfast and one in the afternoon after lunch to get through the afternoon. I find this works for me & would recommend to anyone!
I was looking forward to using these vitamins, but I was so disappointed with how little oil they give you in each pill. There is clearly more room and the photos in the advertisement clearly show there being a small pocket of air. I expected much more from this company based on the price per bottle. How about they spend a little less on their packaging (cylinder cardboard can with 2 special inserts to hold the “orb” pill bottle) and more on the quality of their product?
