What You Need To Know About Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind

Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind is a nootropic supplement; the manufacturers claim that by taking just one capsule a day, customers can “dramatically improve memory, focus, and alertness, giving you that boost you need to work better, faster, and smarter!”

There is very little information available about Path8 Nutrition, the manufacturers of Elite Mind, as they have no official website. They have a Facebook page, which has not been updated since they added a profile picture and cover picture, and it has only one like.

What Are The Side Effects Of Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind?

There are lots of ingredients found in Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind that could potentially cause a range of side effects. The single ingredient that seems most likely to cause side effects is St. John’s Wort.

St. John’s Wort can cause a range of side effects including upset stomach, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, mania, dizziness, confusion, sexual dysfunction, trouble sleeping, difficulty sitting still, skin rash, diarrhoea, skin tingling, vivid dreams, or sensitivity to sunlight. St. John’s Wort can interact with a long list of different medications, including the contraceptive pill, and can often limit their effectiveness. If you are taking any medications, consult your doctor before taking St. John’s Wort. Combining St. John’s wort and certain antidepressants can lead to a potentially life-threatening increase in your body’s levels of serotonin, a chemical produced by nerve cells.

Huperzine A can cause a range of side effects including digestive issues, stomach issues, blurred vision, loss of appetite, sweating, cramping, high blood pressure, and other issues.

Studies have shown that Bacopa leaf causes upset stomachs in participants much more than placebos. This has led to the recommendation that this ingredient be taken with a meal, rather than on an empty stomach, as this will minimise the chances of getting an upset stomach. It may also may cause nausea, cramping, bloating, and diarrhoea.

Vinpocetine can cause some side effects including stomach pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, headache, dizziness, nervousness, and flushing of the face.

How Much Does Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind Cost?

Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind can be purchased from Amazon, where a single bottle costs $18.95. Delivery charges may apply. At the time of writing, there was a $2.00 extra savings coupon that could be applied on the customer’s first order.

Each bottle contains 30 capsules, which will last for anywhere between 15 and 30 days of use depending upon the daily dosage taken.

Our Verdict On Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind

Overall, we are not hugely impressed by Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind. The product can cause a huge list of side effects, and the inclusion of St. John’s Wort means that the product is not suitable for anyone taking prescribed medications or even the contraceptive pill, as it reduces the effectiveness of many medications.

The ingredients used could offer some nootropic benefits; Bacopa may improve memory when supplemented in the long term, whilst Huperzine A may act as a cognitive enhancer. However, some of the ingredients are present in much smaller doses than the amounts used in successful clinical trials, meaning that they are likely to have a limited impact.

There are lots of positive customer reviews for the product on Amazon, but there are lots of indicators that many of these reviews are fake or at least suspicious. Fakespot has given the Amazon listing for this product an F, confirming our suspicions (and that of some other reviewers) that many reviews are fake.

The product is covered by a money-back guarantee. Customers should contact the company through Amazon if they want a refund.

Overall, we do not recommend Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind to our readers.

Does Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind Work?

Some of the ingredients found in Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind do have clinical support to suggest that they confer nootropic benefits. However, the majority of the available studies have been conducted in people who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of cognitive decline.

Bacopa might help to improve memory, but the recommended dose is higher than that found in this supplement. The effects of taking Bacopa also appear to accumulate with use. Phosphatidylserine and Huperzine-A might also offer cognitive benefits.

St. John’s Wort is thought to help lessen mild depression or anxiety, but it can interact with many medications, and the list of side effects it can cause is lengthy.

Overall, Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind could offer some cognitive benefits, but it is unlikely to be as effective as the manufacturers claim.

What Are The Ingredients of Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind?

The ingredients found in Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind are detailed below. The ingredient quantities listed are per serving of a single capsule.

  • Ginkgo Biloba leaf (24% extract) 50 mg: Appears to improve circulation, and may help to kill bacteria in the body that could cause infections, although it is used as an herbal remedy to treat a range of ailments. Source
  • Phosphatidylserine 4% Complex (consisting of Lecithin and Phosphatidylserine) 125 mg: Several studies with phosphatidylserine indicate improved cognitive abilities and behaviours, but the studies focused on Alzheimer’s patients; it is possible that these effects could also benefit consumers in general, but there is no real clinical support to support this. The FDA has stated that Phosphatidylserine may reduce the risk of cognitive dysfunction and dementia in the elderly. Source
  • N-Acetyl L-Carnitine HCl 50 mg: An amino acid that is used to treat fatigue, and may help to boost energy levels. It is typically supplemented in doses of several grams per day. There is some evidence that supplementation of acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. Source
  • St. John’s Wort (0.3% extract) (flower heads) 250 mg: Used herbally to reduce anxiety, treat the symptoms of mild depression, and improve mood in general. Source
  • L-Glutamine 150 mg: An essential amino acid, which is a building block of protein (muscle). Source
  • Bacopa Monnieri Leaf Extract (20% Bacosides) 120 mg: Used to reduce anxiety, improve memory, and seems to have a minor ability to treat depression, making it a general mild mood booster. The recommended dose is typically around 300 mg per day, far more than is found in this supplement, and effects can take time to achieve a noticeable level, as the effects appear to accumulate with repeated use. Source
  • Vinpocetine (seeds) 2 mg: Vinpocetine may increase blood flow to the brain, and so may help to treat fatigue and improve memory; despite claims about research being extensive, most research is outdated and uses biased research methods. Because it is an entirely synthetic chemical, that requires significant lab-work to produce, there is some debate as to whether this ingredient actually qualifies as a supplement under US and FDA guidelines. Source
  • Huperzine-A (Aerial plant) 10 mcg: Huperzine-A is found in Huperzia serrata, and is thought to be a cognitive enhancer. Previous studies have found it to be effective as a memory enhancer for adults suffering with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Because of the relatively long half-life of this compound, its use should be cycled, with breaks in usage every few weeks. Source

Does Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind Have Any Side Effects?

L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a “fishy” odour.

Huperzine A can cause a range of side effects including digestive issues, stomach issues, blurred vision, loss of appetite, sweating, cramping, high blood pressure, and other issues. The likelihood of side effects occurring increases when the supplement is taken for a prolonged period of time, and cycling the product (with a break in use every four weeks or so) is recommended to reduce the chances of side effects occurring.

Side effects of Phosphatidylserine can include insomnia and stomach upset, particularly at doses over 300 mg. It can be made from either plant or animal sources, and so may not be suitable for vegetarians.

Caution:

Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. St. John’s Wort may contribute to photosensitivity resulting in skin irritation and redness in persons exposed to strong sunlight or tanning booths. Avoid in patients at risk of bleeding, taking anticoagulants, or with clotting disorders, based on case reports of bleeding. Discontinue use 2-3 weeks prior to some surgical and dental procedures due to increased risk of bleeding. Use cautiously in patients with history of seizure, based on reports of seizure due to Ginkgo seed ingestion. Avoid use in couples who are trying to conceive, based on theoretical reduction of fertility. Individuals taking MAO Inhibiting Drugs, or with a known medical condition should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement. Not suitable for anyone who is taking any medications, whether prescription or over the counter. If you are unsure about the suitability of this nootropic supplement, or any other supplement, consult your doctor before purchase.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind?

There are over 70 customer reviews for Path 8 Nutrition Elite Mind on Amazon, where the product is sold. Fakespot and Reviewmeta, two websites that check the authenticity of customer reviews on Amazon, have both flagged up this product as having a lot of suspicious or fake reviews; even customers have noticed this, with several of them complaining about it in their own reviews.

How come all the reviews are five star without an exception and all of them are posted very recently around the same time? Something fishy here?

4 stars – first 2 days, took 1 pill, didn’t feel any different. 3rd day, took 2 in the morning with breakfast at 9am; from 11am – 6pm my brain and eyes were laser sharp. It felt like as the day went on the effects were increasing to the point that my whole head started to throb including my teeth, jaw and neck…maybe because of the increase in circulation? I took 2 ibuprofen and had a nap with no issues. Woke up feeling no more pain. Will take again tomorrow to see the effects.

As advertised

Wonderful product. I have seen a slight increase in my focus since taking this product. Love it!

I tried this for a month and didn’t really see any difference in performance. I’ve used others that definitely gave me a mental boost when used (even if not long lasting) but with this one I saw no immediate or long-term effects.

I see no difference, but I wasn’t clouded to begin with. I just was looking for some added sharpness on remembering names etc. This didn’t help with that.
