Procera Health is a health brand that specialises in research and supplements specifically for brain health and according to their own publicity, is a leader in cognitive health. Founded in 2005 the brand is owned by a company called KeyView Labs based in Tampa, Florida.
Procera Protect is the new name for Procera Ceraplex. This supplement is supposed to remove toxins and dangerous free radical cells from the brain but although the ingredients are all either antioxidants or anti-inflammatories there is no real evidence it will work as described. The Procera brand is known for the use of false claims in advertising and the lack of any real customer feedback suggests that this supplement might not be all it is cracked up to be.
Side effects may include: upset stomach, vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, dizziness, increased oestrogen levels, aggravation of acid reflux, low blood pressure, interactions with medications.
Procera Protect is a medium-priced supplement.
If you buy from the official Procera website, one bottle of 60 capsules (30 servings or 1 month’s supply) costs £29.95. Three bottles (3 months’ supply) costs $84.95. Six bottles (6 months’ supply) costs $159.95.
You can also buy Procera Protect via Amazon from various sellers. Prices seem to be between $31.00 and $94.00 for one bottle of 60 capsules.
Although Procera supplements are also available in major stores such as Walmart, Procera Protect (Ceraplex) does not seem to be available.
We are not overly impressed by Procera Protect (Ceraplex). Although the supplement contains some good ingredients that may have benefits to general health, it is unlikely to work in the way as described and detox your brain. In addition there may be side effects.
KeyView Labs, the parent company of the Procera brand claims to be a research and development establishment. If this were really true, we are struggling to see why Procera Protect does not appear to have undergone any clinical testing. After all, it is what the company claims to do. However, this formula seems untested and the ingredient quantities contained in this supplement do not even match the clinical testing carried out elsewhere. We think it is very unlikely to work as described.
KeyView Labs is a multimillion company and the Procera brand is pretty well known and available from many stores including Walmart. Despite this, the company does not seem very trustworthy. KeyView Labs were fined over a million dollars for making fraudulent claims in advertising Procera AVH, one of their more popular supplements. In our opinion you cannot believe much about this company.
Finally, Procera Protect (Ceraplex) is just not popular with customers. There is hardly any customer feedback and it is not on sale from stores such as Walmart, probably because it just does not sell. In our opinion Procera Protect looks like a dud and despite the change of name, customers are obviously still not buying.

Procera Protect (Ceraplex) is a supplement in capsule form. It is billed as a supplement that will protect your brain health by removing toxins such as heavy metals caused by pollution as well as free radical cells and degenerating cells due to aging.
The supplement used to be known simply as Ceraplex and it seems that Procera are attempting to change the name to Protect without confusing customers.
According to the product information, we all absorb toxins such as mercury and aluminium because of high pollution levels and although this affects all organs of the body, it is especially dangerous in the brain. Procera Protect (Ceraplex) contains natural ingredients that claim to help gather these dangerous brain toxins and remove them.
This sounds good but Procera have previously run into trouble for deceptive advertising over another supplement called Procera AVH which had equally appealing claims.
Ingredients in Procera Protect include alpha lipoic acid (ALA) a powerful natural antioxidant, curcumin a natural chemical present in the spice turmeric and known for many physical health benefits. It contains a strong variety of vitamin B12 called methylcolbamin, n acetyl cysteine (NAC), quercetin and finally revesterol an antioxidant molecule found in red wine.
All the components of Procera Protect (Ceraplex) are present in ordinary food sources so should be safe and well tolerated. The perceived advantage of taking these in supplement form is that servings are stronger, more concentrated and so much more effective.
Take 2 capsules daily.
Annoyingly with the exception of B12, all ingredients are mixed together in a proprietary blend so it is impossible to gauge the strength of each individual ingredient. However, it contains 720 mg of active ingredients per two capsules serving.
Key View Labs Inc. is a US company that researches and develops supplements for brain health and fitness and Procera is a well-known US brand name with large revenue. They faced charges of deceptive advertising that claimed that another product Procera AVH would reverse age-related mental decline and memory loss.
Key View Labs Inc. had to pay $1.4 million which many industry watchers felt did not go far enough for a major multi-million company.
According to the product information, ‘Procera Protect is a natural brain detoxifier that can help neutralise neurotoxic build-up in the brain.’
There are three key features:
The product information explains how this supplement works and why it is safer than many other products on the market.
Procera Protect is a natural chelator. Chelation is a process in which an ingredient can bind to, draw out, and eliminate another molecule in the body, including toxins like iron, lead or mercury.
However, many synthetic chelating agents are harsh on the body and may be problematic for aging individuals or those who have immune system vulnerabilities.
Procera Protect’s natural formula eliminates that worry. Composed of highly researched food and herbal extracts that are considered safe and effective – such as curcumin, Resveratrol and Quercetin – Procera Protect helps gather up brain toxins and remove them in a softer, kinder way.
The product advertising is appealing but as this company has past form in making unproven claims we think you should take the persuasive word with a pinch of salt.
In addition, for a multi-million company that ‘researches and develops’ supplements, you would expect that some clinical research had been carried out on this formula but this is not the case.
However all the ingredients contained in the supplement are either an antioxidant or an anti-inflammatory and as many of these have been tested individually for their impact on free radical cells with varying degrees of success, it is possible that this combination may do something. The downside is that ingredient quantities do not match any positive clinical testing.
Another point is that there is very little proof that environmental toxins in the brain actually cause cognitive loss.
We think it is unlikely that Procera Protect (Ceraplex) will make much noticeable difference to your brain health or cognitive function.
Each serving is equal to two capsules.

Procera Protect (Ceraplex) may cause side effects which might include:
The product information does not warn against side effects. However you will need to check with your doctor first if you are taking prescription medication because it will cause interactions. You should probably avoid if you have or have had a hormonally sensitive condition such as breast cancer or other underlying medical condition.
Caution:
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Speak to your doctor first if you are taking prescription medication or have an underlying medical condition. This supplement may cause interactions or affect the way your medicine works.
There do not appear to be any independent reviews for this supplement. Despite it being on sale via outlets including Amazon, there is no customer feedback.
There are only a couple of comments left by customers on the Procera Protect product page on the Procera website.
Loved this product. I really felt the difference in clarity and focus.
I’ve been taking Procera AVH for a few months but when I added Procera Protect to my routine, the difference was remarkable. After years of working in construction, I think my brain needed a detox from the pollution I’ve been exposed too. My mind hasn’t felt this good in years.
There is no money-back guarantee.
