It contains a combination of green tea extract, Ashwagandha extract, holy basil, and other ingredients to help relieve stress and support the adrenal glands. It also contains Relora, which is a combo of magnolia bark and Phellodendron and is supposed reduce cortisol levels. By using Super Cortisol Support regularly, you will be able to reduce stress to an extent that it will help reduce abdominal fat. You will also notice an increase in energy. The problem is that many of the ingredients are under-dosed, while others do not have enough scientific evidence to support their use.

Our Verdict On Super Cortisol Support

Super Cortisol Support is geared towards people who want a solution for chronic stress. Super Cortisol Support contains Relora, which is supposed to help reduce stress, but not many studies are there to support the use of Relora. Some studies suggest that it may help you manage stress in a better way, but more research is required to conclude anything. Moreover, Relora may cause certain side effects in some people. Other than Relora, you will also find green tea extract, soy lecithin, Ashwagandha, and many other ingredients, but again, there is insufficient evidence that green tea extract proves effective against stress or supports a healthy adrenal function. Soy lecithin is associated with several serious side effects, and Ashwagandha may do nothing to manage physical stress. The price of Super Cortisol Support looks rather affordable, but you will eventually be losing money since it does nothing to improve your health.

Overall, we do not recommend Super Cortisol Support to our readers.

Super Cortisol Support Review

Super Cortisol Support is designed to support your adrenal function. The adrenal glands are responsible for helping you manage mental, physical, and emotional stressors by producing cortisol. Under chronic stress, it becomes difficult for the adrenal glands to maintain healthy levels of cortisol, which in turn increases destabilize blood sugar levels and increases risk of gaining abdominal fat. Super Cortisol Support is supposed to prevent this issue by controlling the production of cortisol and making it easier to manage stress. It certainly includes some good ingredients, but the use of a proprietary blend makes people skeptical about using the supplement.

The supplement is supposed to help relieve stress by providing you with a 200mg serving of Relora. It is actually a proprietary blend of Phellodendron and magnolia bark. Relora is supposed to reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and attenuate sweet cravings to help prevent weight gain. It is worth mentioning that not everyone is going to see the effects of Relora. Studies suggest that magnolia bark may not prove as effective in reducing stress as claimed by the manufacturers of Relora. It may help treat digestive problems, menstrual cramps, nausea, and colds, but do not expect much in terms of weight loss. Moreover, Relora may be linked to several side effects, including mild hypotension, drowsiness, and heartburn.

There is also green tea extract in Super Cortisol Support, which contains 50% EGCGs and 95% total polyphenols. There is 90mg of green tea extract in each serving of Super Cortisol Support. It is supposed to help increase weight loss and improve focus as well. The presence of caffeine may certainly help increase thermogenesis, but you are not going to experience a significant reduction in weight. There is some evidence that green tea catechins may help reduce fat absorption, but you are not going to see any benefits if you already have a high body fat percentage. Moreover, green tea extract is not going to help much with adrenal function or high blood sugar levels.

It is worth mentioning that some studies suggest that the combination of catechins and caffeine may help increase energy expenditure. For instance:

  • The authors of a meta-analysis of 6 randomized controlled trials with a total of 98 participants found that caffeine alone or in combination with catechins significantly increases energy expenditure in a dose-dependent fashion compared with placebo. Source

The issue is that there is no real addition of caffeine in the blend. Therefore, you are not going to notice a significant change in energy expenditure either. Even when green tea supplementation helps, the effects are not that significant. For instance:

  • A 2012 Cochrane review analyzed the results from 14 randomized controlled trials of green tea preparations in a total of 1,562 overweight or obese participants (Source). The trials lasted from 12 to 13 weeks, and doses of green tea catechins ranged from 141 to 1,207 mg. Green tea supplementation reduced body weight by a mean of 0.95 kg more than placebo.

It is also supposed that green tea catechins increase metabolism and are therefore helpful for weight loss. However, it all depends on the dose of EGCGs in a supplement. For instance:

  • In a study, Hsu., et al. did not find any reduction in body weight in obese women after supplementing 491 mg of green tea extract (392 mg of EGCG). Source

It shows that you may notice results when you take 491mg of green tea extract, but you get far less than this in each serving of Super Cortisol Support.

Super Cortisol Support Facts

  • 90 capsules
  • Suitable for vegetarians

You will also find Ashwagandha in the supplement. You get 20mg of Ashwagandha in each serving of Super Cortisol Support. Ashwagandha is supposed to have neuroprotection and anti-cancer effects. It is mainly included in Super Cortisol Support because of its anti-anxiety effects. Some studies are there to support the use of Ashwagandha to reduce depression symptoms, but it is important to take larger doses to see any benefits. For instance:

  • Six weeks supplementation of Ashwagandha (250mg twice daily of the root extract) in persons with diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder (mixed anxiety and depression) noted significant improvements in both depression and anxiety symptoms. Source

Another study has observed the same:

  • 300 mg ashwagandha (1.5% withanolides) twice daily over the course of 8 weeks in persons with anxiety disorders also given counselling (placebo also given counselling) noted that supplementation was associated with a 56.5% reduction in anxiety symptoms as assessed by BAI while placebo only say a 30.5% reduction. Source

You only get 20mg of Ashwagandha extract from Super Cortisol Support, and though it contains 4.5% withanolides, it is still not going to be enough. The same holds true for holy basil extract and reishi mushroom. Holy basil extract contains 2% Ursolic acid, but it seems that you do not get enough of it from Super Cortisol Support. Moreover, you may end up developing some side effects mainly because holy basil also contains eugenol that can cause problems like seizures, dizziness, throat burns, coma, and racing heartbeat. Reishi mushroom is included in the blend for its antioxidant properties. Some supplement manufacturers say that it also helps reduce inflammation and fatigue. It may have a role to play in the treatment of nervous system disorders. The problem is that not many studies are there to back the claims associated with reishi mushroom. For instance:

  • A toxicology study noted no significant influences on blood lipoprotein markers or TGs, just a non-significant beneficial trend in otherwise healthy adults. No influence was noted on superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, DNA damage as assessed by comet assay, C-RP, or total antioxidant defenses. No influence on the CD4:CD8 lymphocytic ratio was noted, and total leucocytes were unchanged. The dosing was 1.44g extract (13.2g mushroom equivalent) for 29 days in otherwise healthy adults. Source

Even when it works, the doses are extremely high. In fact, some studies have used up to 5,000mg a day. You only get 20mg of reishi mushroom from each serving of Super Cortisol Support, which is not going to help at all.

Even when you take enough, you may still see no real effects. For instance:

  • Over the course of 10 days using Reishi at 2g extract (taken with water separate of meals) in healthy volunteers, no significant adverse effects were seen and changes in immunity did not occur. The authors mentioned this failure to enhance immunity may be due to time frame. Source

Another study has found the same:

  • 1.44g of water-soluble Reishi polysaccharides daily in persons with hyperlipidemia and/or hypertension (130/85 or above) for 12 weeks was able to improve parameters of glucose metabolism (insulin sensitivity and basal insulin levels) and some aspects of lipid metabolism (HDL by 24%, TGs by 8%). It had no effect on catecholamines, cortisol, blood pressure, weight, LDL levels of lympocyte count. SOD and glutathione peroxidase were unaffected. Source

How to Take Super Cortisol Support

You have to take one capsule thrice a day.

Super Cortisol Support also contains rosea rhodiola, which is supposed to offer nootropic benefits. Some studies show that it may also help reduce mental fatigue, but it is also found that it may cause problems like agitation, insomnia, and restlessness. Some studies have also found that rhodiola rosea usually works when you are already in a stressful situation. For instance:

  • 144mg rhodiola (SHR-5) with 2.3% salidroside was able to reduce fatigue, but not stressed, in a cohort of otherwise healthy persons after 1 week of supplementation. Source

It may help improve mental fatigue, but you need to take larger doses. For instance:

  • In a double-blind study, supplementation with an extract of Rhodiola (1 tablet per day, providing 170 mg of extract and 4.5 mg of salidroside) for two weeks significantly improved mental fatigue in a group of physicians during night duty.

Super Cortisol Support Concerns:

  • Ineffective ingredients
  • Under-dosed ingredients
  • Not effective for weight loss
  • Possible side effects
  • Hard to opt-out of auto-ship program
  • Quite expensive

There is soy lecithin in the blend, but it is better to avoid a supplement that relies on this ingredient. Many studies have confirmed that supplementing with soy lecithin can cause gastrointestinal problems. In fact, it can also cause several neurochemical and behavioral abnormalities.

  • In a study, pregnant rats and their offspring were exposed to 2% or 5% soy lecithin diets and enrichment started as early as conception. According to the study, “The most marked early sensorimotor deficits (reflex righting and swimming development) were seen in the 5% soy lecithin preparation group, although all soy lecithin preparation-exposed offspring had elevated brain/body weight ratios and choline acetyltransferase [ChAT] levels” (Source). For animals exposed to lifelong 2% or 5% soy lecithin, the researchers observed that they “were hypoactive, had poor postural reflexes, and showed attenuated morphine analgesia;” meaning that it lessened the pain-killing effects of morphine.

The fact of the matter is that Super Cortisol Support claims to be an effective way to reduce stress and lose weight, but it does not have the right blend. Most of the ingredients are either ineffective or under-dosed. You may even develop side effects. Moreover, there is no real fat burner in the blend. It means that if your weight gain is not due to excessive cortisol, Super Cortisol Support is not going to help in terms of weight loss. The price of this supplement is also a bit on the higher side. You can save money if you opt for their auto-ship program, but customer reviews suggest that it is hard to opt-out of the program. Therefore, it is better to avoid putting your money on this supplement and look for a better alternative.

What Does Super Cortisol Support Claim To Do?

Super Cortisol Support uses a combination of different ingredients to offer a number of benefits. Here are some of its claimed benefits:

  • Improves adrenal functions
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Reduces abdominal fat
  • Increases energy production
  • Improves concentration and focus
  • Reduces mental fatigue

Does Super Cortisol Support Work?

Super Cortisol Support uses a combination of ingredients to help relieve stress, stabilize blood sugar, and reduce weight in an effective way. Super Cortisol Support contains Relora, which is supposed to help you lose weight by reducing cortisol levels and support adrenal function. Unfortunately, there is not enough scientific evidence to support the claims associated with Relora. The presence of green tea extract is a good thing, but it seems that you do not get enough EGCGs per serving. It also contains some effective yet under-dosed ingredients. For instance, Ashwagandha may help reduce stress, but Super Cortisol Support does not have enough of it. Similarly, reishi mushroom is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, but the dose is quite low. Holy basil extract is another under-dosed ingredient found in Super Cortisol Support. When you do not get enough of important ingredients, you are not going to see any benefit either. Therefore, it would not be wrong to suggest that Super Cortisol Support is quite ineffective and useless.

What Are The Ingredients of Super Cortisol Support?

Super Cortisol Support contains multivitamin, minerals, and a combination of natural herbs and extracts. Unfortunately, most of the ingredients are severely under-dosed, while others lack scientific evidence for support. Here is what you will find in each serving of Super Cortisol Support:

  • Pantothenic Acid (from Calcium Pantothenate) 10 mg 200%

Does Super Cortisol Support Have Any Side Effects?

Super Cortisol Support contains many different products, and it is possible to develop side effects due to some of them. For instance, green tea extract adds caffeine to the blend. Though it is not a lot, it may still cause irritability, increased heart rate, and restlessness.

There is Relora in the blend, which is known for causing several problems. It may cause drowsiness, especially when you first introduce it in your routine. Some studies suggest that Relora may be associated with mild hypotension. Though it does not cause any change in diastolic blood pressure, it may lower your systolic blood pressure. Some people may experience other issues, including shaking hands, heartburn, thyroid dysfunction, and sexual dysfunction. You should inform your doctor before taking Relora because it can interact with other drugs and medication. It has antihistamine activity, so you may want to talk to your doctor before taking it.

Super Cortisol Support also contains rhodiola rosea, which is known for causing side effects such as dry mouth, dizziness, and gastrointestinal problems. Reishi extract found in the supplement may cause problems like dryness of the throat, mouth, and nasal area. It may also cause nosebleed, stomach upset, and bloody stools. The presence of other ingredients makes Super Cortisol Support unsafe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Super Cortisol Support?

Super Cortisol Support is supposed to reduce stress and anxiety to support weight loss, but it seems that it fails to produce any results. Here is what customers say:

I have been taking the supplement for the last three weeks now but I have not noticed any change in my health. I still feel anxious and have a high body fat percentage. Avoid it!

I do not think it is going to help anyone lose weight. It may help relax your nerves a bit, but do not choose it if you are looking for something to support weight loss.
