What You Need To Know About Truth Nutra Cortigon

Cortigon is a mild nootropic supplement that may have positive effects, such as increased alertness and memory recall. It contains a blend of well-known ingredients, and side effects are unlikely to be an issue. However, the stress reducing claims may be exaggerated and if you suffer from stress on a daily basis, you will probably find that making lifestyle changes will be more beneficial than relying on this supplement. There is no real evidence that we can find, that says the contents of this supplement will reduce cortisol levels as claimed. You are encouraged to subscribe to autoship if you buy direct from the official Truth Nutra website.

What Are The Side Effects Of Truth Nutra Cortigon?

Cortigon looks pretty safe for most people and although there may be side effects, as with most supplements, thankfully these seem quite rare. However, these may include nausea, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, stomach upset, constipation, forceful heartbeat, bruising, allergic skin reactions, gas, diarrhoea, and vomiting.

How Much Does Truth Nutra Cortigon Cost?

At $39.99 from the Truth Nutra website, Cortigon does not seem expensive at first glance. However, if you use the larger serving size of 4 capsules a day, each bottle of 60 capsules will last only 15 days. You can use up to 6 capsules a day, which would only provide 10 servings of this supplement. So it is more expensive than it first appears.

You are encouraged to join the “subscribe and save option” for the cheaper option of $33.96. We do not advise you to choose this option, because in our experience cancelling an auto ship program can be much harder than signing up to it.

You can also buy Cortigon via Amazon USA, where it costs the same as the full price on the official website of $39.99 for 60 capsules.

Our Verdict On Truth Nutra Cortigon

Cortigon is a confusing looking supplement that claims it will reduce stress levels and cortisol, but offers no explanation about how this actually works. And despite extensive research, we cannot find much evidence that the nootropic ingredients contained in this supplement really do have a stress boosting effect as claimed.

In addition, we think it is overpriced. If you take the maximum serving size you only have between 10 days and two weeks supply which at $39, 00 is too expensive. Take for a month at this rate and you could be looking at over $80.00, or a whopping $120 if you take the maximum serving each day (not advised).

That said there are some good points. There is some positive customer feedback and we like that it looks safe. There is a guarantee on offer too although no real details about how to claim this which does let it down.

Overall, Cortigon looks a bit underwhelming as a nootropic supplement, and we just cannot see it working to reduce stress and cortisol in the way it is described. Therefore, we do not recommend Truth Nutra Cortigon to our readers.

Truth Nutra Cortigon Review

Cortigon is a nootropic supplement that is aimed at making you feel calmer by reducing stress. According to the advertising, this will also increase energy levels and improve memory and focus.

Truth Nutra Cortigon Facts

  • Each bottle contains 60 capsules (between 10-30 servings)
  • Contains Inositol as a key ingredient
  • Comes from a company called Truth Nutra, also known as Truth Nutraceuticals

Cortigon is not overly strong. It contains some common nootropic ingredients including Phosphatidylserine, the principle ingredient, plus herbal extract Gingko leaf and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), present in fish oil. It also contains Inositol, a vitamin type substance present in plants and animals. Inositol is often used to treat depression and panic attacks, so this may be the key ingredient for the stress free claims. Check out the ingredients tab to find out more.

Many people are concerned about their stress levels. However, stress is not always bad because it keeps us focused and able to cope with unexpected events or dangers. When your body is under stress it goes into the body’s survival mechanism, the fight or flight response, and your stress hormone cortisol kicks in. This is an ancient response to danger and whereas once your ancestors may have been facing a dangerous animal in a life threatening situation, these days the same feeling can be caused by finance, pressure at work, or any of modern life situations that we face on a daily basis. When your stress levels are triggered too often and too easily, it can undermine physical and mental health.

There are natural ways of coping with stress, such as meditation or walking. Some people turn to alcohol or drugs as a way of de stressing, which is dangerous for health. This supplement seems to offer an alternative method and according to the product information, you will feel it working within 20 minutes. Source

Truth Nutra Cortigon Concerns:

Does Truth Nutra Cortigon Work?

Looking at the six main ingredients of Cortigon gives us a slightly mixed opinion on how well this supplement will work. All the ingredients are known for their supposed nootropic effect, but does this add up to reducing the body’s cortisol levels as claimed? It does not seem very likely that this supplement will affect your stress levels in the way as described.

Some of the ingredients such as Phosphatidylserine and L Carnitine Tartrate may help improve memory and concentration, according to limited clinical testing. DHA (or fish oil) is known to increase brain activity and tests have shown that although it is not a stimulant, the Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids may have a limited effect on depression in people with major depressive disorder.

Inositol is a vitamin type substance in the body that may help balance chemicals. Some evidence has shown that it can be useful as a treatment for panic attacks and compulsive or obsessive disorders.

The last two ingredients are also a bit hit or miss in this supplement. Ginkgo leaf extract is supposed to support the treatment of dementia, sexual dysfunction, and a range of other purposes, but unfortunately this information is largely anecdotal and really has little to support its usefulness for brain functioning. It does not seem to be relevant to this supplement.

Choline does have some health benefits, but in this form it may not increase brain concentrations of Choline very reliably. Choline Bitartrate is the cheapest form of Choline and also the least beneficial.

What Are The Ingredients of Truth Nutra Cortigon?

Serving size is equal to 2 capsules.

  • Phosphatidylserine (150 mg): Phosphatidylserine is present in the brain where it plays a vital role in protecting brain cells, and in passing on messages between cells. When taken in supplement form it is thought to help with memory in older people. Research has shown it may help dementia sufferers. Phosphatidylserine may help keep your mind sharp and your memory working, so it does have benefits but we cannot find any connection to this relieving stress or decreasing cortisol levels.
  • L – Carnitine Tartrate (100mg): This is a compound able to alleviate the effects of aging and disease on mitochondria. Also known as ALCAR, it is often used as a brain booster due to its ability to increase alertness and mitochondrial capacity while providing support for the neurons. L-Tartrate (LCLT) is typically used for physical performance and power output.
  • Ginkgo Leaf Extract (60mg): Originally an ancient Chinese medicine, the main use of Ginkgo Leaf extract appears to be increased blood flow and circulation. Ginkgo leaf extract is sometimes used for treatment of dementia in older people, but there is only limited research to suggest that Ginkgo Biloba can improve memory. Increasing blood flow to the brain can help improve mental ability. There seems to be no claims about this substance relieving stress.
  • Choline Bitartrate (25mg): This is the simplest and cheapest form of choline supplementation, and while it does produce benefits for the body, it may not increase brain concentrations of choline very reliably.
  • Inositol (25mg): Inositol is a word that refers to molecules with a similar structure and when the term ‘Inositol’ is used within dietary supplements, it usually refers to a specific stereoisomer called myo-inositol. Inositols are found foods especially in whole grains and citrus fruits. Tests have shown some promise as an anti-depressant and against some other conditions associated with anxiety, such as panic disorders and binge eating.
  • DHA Docosahexaenoic acid (17mg): Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are two types of omega – 3 fatty acids that are more commonly known as Fish oil. Though fish oil is not a stimulant, it increases brain activity, so a stimulatory effect may be felt after use. DHA has been studied for its role in memory formation, as higher DHA concentrations are correlated with greater verbal fluency skills in older people. Source

Does Truth Nutra Cortigon Have Any Side Effects?

In general, there does not appear to be any problems with these ingredients at these doses. L – Carnitine has few if any side effects whereas Inositol is considered safe up to 12mg a day. Customers have not reported any side effects, and they are probably not very common.

However, potential side effects may include:

  • Nausea
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach upset
  • Constipation
  • Forceful heartbeat
  • Bruising
  • Allergic skin reactions
  • Gas
  • Diarrhoea and vomiting

Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Check with your doctor fist if you have an underlying medical or mental health condition or are taking prescription medication.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Truth Nutra Cortigon?

There are only a few customer reviews on Amazon, but overall opinion is positive.

This product is awesome!! Been using it for just a week and I can’t believe the difference it makes!! Thank you Christopher Walker!

This product really helps with stress related problems!! I will continue to use Cortigon I love it!!

This customer went into more detail,

Well, it works. Some days better than others, but overall, it works better than expected. You cannot expect it to be like a drug where you take it and 20 seconds later, you’re feeling great. It’s just an overall calming feeling that comes about. Feels normal, just relaxed and happens over time. Don’t set expectations to high. If you’re having a really rough day, it will help, but you will still need to employ other stress reducing strategies

Some customers are not as satisfied,

I have been using this for a few days but, I don’t feel or see a difference in focus, or energy levels. I have been taking 3 capsules per day

And as some customers have said,

Didn’t notice a single difference…
